Duties: Teach entrepreneurship, small business management and related general business courses both on-ground during the day or evening and online; participate in curriculum development, participate in the development and implementation of assessments for courses, programs and learning outcomes; participate in textbook selection, academic and career advisement, and staff development programs; perform peer evaluations; serve as an active committee member in college, departmental, and student organizations; maintain office hours; and maintain currency in subject matter and instructional techniques; engage in college, departmental, and faculty organization activities. In addition, will serve as the lead faculty member for our campus-wide entrepreneurship initiatives and serve as our liaison with other academic and industry partners.
Master's degree in business, business management, business administration, accountancy, finance, marketing, or business education OR bachelor's degree in any of the above AND master's degree in economics, personnel management, public administration, or Juris Doctorate (J.D.) or Legum Baccalaureus (LL.B.) degree OR bachelor's degree in economics with a business emphasis AND master's degree in personnel management, public administration, or J.D. or LL.B. degree OR the equivalent* OR possession of an appropriate valid California Community College Credential authorizing service in the specified subject area(s). Evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of the socio-economic, academic, cultural and ethnic diversity within the college student population including students with physical and/or learning disabilities as these factors relate to differences in learning styles.
Industry and/or teaching experience in the following topic areas: entrepreneurship; business model development; creativity and innovation; entrepreneurial mindset; entrepreneurial finance; small business management; makerspaces; experience and training in developing courses for online delivery, as well as teaching online; evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of the issues surrounding globalization, environmental sustainability, the socio-economic, academic, cultural and ethnic diversity within the community college student population including students with physical and/or learning disabilities as these factors relate to differences in learning styles.
