Become a force for nature and a healthy planet by joining the New York State team.
The New York State Conservation Innovation Director (CID) will provide a novel and fresh perspective to conservation planning and thinking in New York State. He/she will participate with New York Division conservation leadership and field staff to help identify, design and implement innovative approaches to our work to enhance the impact of our projects. The CID will bring to the table his/her background and experience – which may include non-conservation disciplines such as technology, business and finance, the arts, policy, and social science -- to provide input, analysis, generate concepts and ideas, and have ‘hands on’ engagement in the implementation of thematically oriented conservation initiatives. The CID will apply creative approaches that may be novel in conservation work, for example including methods and practices from any fields requiring creativity in problem solving and opportunity creation, entrepreneurial thinking, and innovation as an essential element of success. The CID will work closely with colleagues in New York to provide guidance and advice in conceiving, planning, and implementing projects, evaluating current projects, as well as finding opportunities to best leverage our work. In addition, the CID will work closely with other Nature Conservancy Divisions and programs, including specifically NatureVest, to develop initiatives in New York State.
