Analyze and improve distribution center processes and procedures for optimizing quality, customer service, productivity, safety, and asset management..
Lead continuous improvement activities including engineered labor standards, packing techniques, optimization of storage space, process mapping and improvement, slotting of products, and application of new technology.
Develop information systems and methods to analyze and report on distribution center metrics.
Develop an information system and procedures to manage new product introductions, product changes, and product obsolescence.
Develop logistics requirements and standards for packaging, labeling, pallets, load sizes, etc. and work with other groups to implement.
Analyze material movement and improve material handling systems, processes and procedures to meet and exceed material movement needs.
Establish themselves as a superuser in JDA Warehouse Management and JDA Labor Management.
Lead JDA troubleshooting, testing and implementation of changes.
Identify opportunities for cost and inventory reductions by configuring products to order in the distribution center. Coordinate activities associated with establishing necessary assembly, testing, packaging and labeling systems for these products.
Prepare economic analysis and cost justification for new capital equipment.
Champion and understand the use of lean manufacturing techniques.
Conducts tasks in accordance with applicable health, safety, quality, and environmental regulations (state/federal laws, ISO9001, ISO14000, etc.) as well as Rockwell Automation policies and procedures.
Networks across the organization and develops successful internal and external relationships.
Communicate effectively with all levels of employees.
Initiate and lead task teams to enhance DC performance.
Partner with all levels of plant management in responding to and implementing change.
Ensures thorough familiarity with company policies and procedures. Appropriately applies policies and procedures in compliance with government laws. Policies and procedures include, but not limited to: Standards of Business Conduct, Intellectual Property, Control Environment, Information Protection, ISO 9000 & 14000, government regulations (e.g. health, safety, quality and environmental), and functional policies published on the Rockwell Automation Information Network.
Implements and directs cost reduction strategies through LEAN programs to meet or surpass all cost, quality, productivity, performance, efficiency and specific objectives.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering required, preferably in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 1 year experience in operations or engineering, with related experience in information systems and/or material handling systems.
- Expert knowledge of MS Office.
- Must have Continuous Improvement or Lean Six Sigma knowledge, preferably operationally.
- Professional oral and written communications.
- Excellent interpersonal and problem resolution skills.
- Knowledge of a warehouse labor management system.

- Grade point average of 3.0 out of an 4.0 scale.
- Experience in database management/reporting and developing work standards desirable.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Minitab.
- Background in Red Prairie (JDA).
