Rockwell Automation seeks a capable individual to provide paralegal and administrative support for the Company's litigation matters, potential claims, and incidents that involve product liability, general liability, intellectual property, employment, business, and asbestos disputes. This position will report to the Assistant General Counsel and is located at Rockwell's Mayfield Heights, Ohio campus.
Job duties will include, but are not limited to, the following activities: interfacing with necessary engineering and technical personnel within affected Company product groups, assisting with all phases of document discovery, providing general assistance to outside counsel in preparing defense of claims, participation in on-site inspections and counseling support for the product safety group. Other duties include: maintenance of product liability litigation case files and support database information; attendance and participation in product risk assessments; process management of outside counsel and vendor invoices and generating data reports; coordination of insurer case reviews and interfacing with applicable corporate and external insurance and risk management personnel. In addition, this position will support, on back up basis, other Office of General Counsel paralegals.
The candidate must be willing to work some overtime on occasion, demonstrate team player qualities, possess excellent organizational and time management skills, and evidence an attention to detail. Some occasional travel is required.In addition to possessing a strong understanding of litigation strategies, tactics and documents, the candidate must demonstrate: a strong intellect; excellent verbal and written communication skills; high energy, a strong work ethic, an ability to manage multiple priorities and possess the quantitative skills necessary to track different metrics on cases and costs. The successful candidate will be a self-starter and possess uncompromising ethics.
- Formal Paralegal training or certificate
- At least 8 years of litigation paralegal experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Experiencewithe-discovery software
- Prior specific substantive experience with e-discovery best practices is required including the issuance of hold orders, collection of documents, development and usage of search terms, and the culling and production of documents.
-Candidate must be able to understand the budgeting process, and the ability to track reserves and financial metrics.
- Prior in-house litigation paralegal experience
- Bachelor's degree
