The S & OP leader will lead the Sales & Operations process; order plant selection, capacity and material evaluations to set the initial order/project promise date for optimal delivery performance. This position will lead/own the Supply management process, as well as perform S&OP coordination between the LV2100 business unit and OES. As an individual contributor, the expectation is that you will use proven leadership and change management skills to drive improvements in business performance related to production planning, Sales & Operations Planning, Supply Forecasting, Capacity Balancing and Cumulative Lead time for the Medium Voltage Business. This will establish loading, capacity, build and shipment plans in the Richland Center, WI, Tecate, MX, and Monterrey, MX facilities. Business process performance improvements will be primarily driven through working relationships with project management, application engineering, P&IC Managers, plant managers, and plant schedulers.
Identifying trends and works with Master Schedulers, P&IC managers, Materials Management, and Plant Managers to proactively adjust capacity
Provide relevant experience for all affected Business Unit strategic and operational planning activities. Develop, implement & maintain appropriate processes to ensure a productive planning process and well-considered and implementable strategic plans.
Research situations and obtain input from others to ensure fact-based solutions and answers to technical and operational problems.
Apply increasingly in-depth and advanced knowledge and expertise, analytical skills, and creative thinking to modify or adjust processes or approaches to best meet needs/objectives.
Typical activities: capacity vs. load reporting, $$ forecast conversion to units of capacity/people-hours, cross-functional meeting facilitation, order plant selection, plant capabilities summary, and leadership without direct reports.
Utilize analytical skills to present recommendations on how to achieve LVB/OES objectives.
Create training material and document procedures to comply with new/existing business processes
Lead/Adapt to change by identifying implications of change for LVB and OES
Support development of Division-wide processes that ensure productive planning efforts in business segments and functional units consistent with RACS requirements and strategies
Take responsibility for continuous development and performance; provides and asks for performance feedback. Develops and energizes people through sharing ideas, coaching, mentoring, or supervising. Communicates RA's vision, values, principles and business goals
Provides management with options and recommendations for effective operations and business development strategies
Partners with internal/external customers to solve problems and deliver timely, cost-effective quality solutions
Know and use business metrics in order to evaluate and recommend actions required to achieve capacity utilization objectives
Maintain a current knowledge of strategic planning practices, including market segmentation, industry competitive structure and related competitive strategies, and financial analysis
Ensures thorough familiarity with company policies and procedures. Appropriately applies policies and procedures in compliance with government laws. Policies and procedures include, but not limited to: Standards of Business Conduct, Intellectual Property, Control Environment, Information Protection, ISO 9000 and 140000, government regulations (e.g., health, safety, quality and environmental), and functional policies published on the Rockwell Automation Information Network
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration with a Supply Chain focus, Operations or a related technical area.
- 4+ years progressive experience in Materials, Manufacturing Operations, Purchasing, or other Supply Chain function.
This position requires International Travel up to 25% required to other Rockwell Automation locations to support assigned business unit segment.
