The Motion Control Business Unit is looking for a driven and highly-organized self-starter to join its Performance Engineering and Lean Six Sigma team to support cost productivity and process improvement objectives.
The Lean Project Manager is responsible for coordination, development, and execution of continuous improvement projects to support business process improvement, product cost reduction and other objectives as assigned. This individual will be accountable for significant business improvements utilizing Lean Six Sigma tools and techniques and is a key agent in the company's efforts in driving a culture of continuous improvement. The Lean Project Manager works closely with other cross-functional team members within the business and will support project teams and the development of others.
Develop a sufficient network of resources both within and outside of Rockwell Automation to accomplish assigned work successfully, maintaining positive work relationships.
Gain a working knowledge of SAP transactions and data retrieval from SAP and other Rockwell Automation systems in order to perform analysis for project selection, project planning, project monitoring and controlling, and project execution.
Lead site and cross-site improvement projects and teams to rigorously apply the Lean Six Sigma methods to achieve business results.
Work with Engineering to lead projects to reduce costs through redesign, vendor selection, part localization, benchmarking etc.
Partner with others within the organization to identify and select cost productivity and process improvement projects, including execution of kaizen events to identify productivity and process improvement opportunities.
Learn to lead and mentor teams in the use of Lean Six Sigma tools and processes; serving as a change agent and assisting them in solving high level and/or complex problems resulting in breakthrough levels of performance improvement.
Learn to train and mentor others throughout the organization providing guidance and direction as needed to ensure they are successful with their projects.
Support the implementation / leverage of best practices particularly within Performance Engineering to ensure process improvements are implemented and sustained.
Maintain project performance measures on a regular basis to report to leadership on project status as required.
Maintain project and other records at an appropriate level of detail following department procedures where they exist, and using good work judgment where there are no applicable procedures.
A Bachelor's degree Business, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related technical field with knowledge in the application of basic engineering principles, theories, and techniques. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
Lean Six Sigma Green belt certification or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 2 years of related work experience.
Exceptional communication skills and the ability to present and clearly convey key information.
Must work well in a team environment and interface with other functional groups such as Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Marketing, Purchasing, and outside suppliers.
