Position Summary Within the Sales Office, the Commercial Sales Specialist (CSS) is a sales resource providing Rockwell Automation sales support in order to enhance selling opportunities for territory sales account managers and territory managers in order to drive market share growth, and coordinate activities among other CSS's.
The CSS role is a sub-regional position providing support to both local sales staff and remote resources.
Ability to communicate well over the phone and in writing to support remote resources. Collaborates effectively with other regional sales team members. May be required to train new team members on process and system tools. Collaborates with other leaders as needed.
This CSS role is also responsible for development and execution of the regional communications strategy. Maintaining any communication portals for the sales team. Collaborating with the regional leadership team on the Andean, Caribbean, Central America and Southern Cone sub-regions/ Serves as the team lead of the regional communication committee to help drive operational execution of deliverables related to executing the communications strategy.
This role assist with account management by analyzing customer agreements, verifying content, identifying gaps and leveraging buying behavior in order to grow sales through development of co-managed objectives. Responsibilities include responding to internal and external customers and providing presales support to maintain as well as grow sales opportunity levels.
Supports RA channel partners as a local resource for procedural guidance. Engages distributors on process improvement and fosters information exchange. Regularly communicates with channel partners on situational data, tools, process, and/or organizational changes, events and activities.
Responsible for training Rockwell Automation Sales and Channel partners on systems, tools and processes in order to drive operational efficiency and sale force effectiveness. Coordinates communications to LA HQ and business unit contacts. Interfaces with centralized customer care and logistic resources on behalf of Channel partners and end customers to drive order/delivery enhancements, raise awareness to quality concerns and expedite pricing/availability request.
May be required to conduct prospect research and evaluate industrial reports and local business publications to identify new potential customers/projects
Uses sales data, pricing information and account knowledge to assist in strategic account negotiations.
Generates leads for potential legacy conversions and provides competitive analysis for new projects. Pre-qualifies and nurtures the development of relationships with prospects and target customers in order to drive sales growth.
Manages data availability, run reports, coordinates literature availability for the support of Sales Staff needs.
Enhance the territory CRM Opportunity Management performance by identifying new opportunities, provides regular updates, engaging sale engineers for CRM maintenance requirements, and processing necessary reports and database updates to drive an accurate view of current and future business levels throughout the territory.
As necessary will participate in and support local commercial activities.
May travel occasionally to Channel partners locations and various offsite facilities for regional wide collaborative activities.
Bachelors' degree in technical discipline, engineering, marketing, communications, business administration or equivalent field with 3 5 years of related experience
Microsoft Office and Outlook proficiency
Ability to work in cross functional teams
Strong customer relationship management skills and ability to collaborate effectively with various functional groups and peer business units
