Where the Chemistry Happens
We are seeking a Scientist III expert in Analytical and Physical Chemistry to provide Analytical Chemistry support to various Business Units (BUs) in BASF operations in the North America region and join
our corporate analytical team at our Wyandotte, MI, facility. BASF is the world's leading chemical company. Its portfolio ranges from chemicals, plastics, performance products and crop protection products to oil and gas.
Scientist III (1700474) - Wyandotte, MI
You will work closely with BU personnel and Analytical Department colleagues to determine appropriate methodologies to characterize and/or quantify a wide range of chemical compositions for numerous project areas including new product development, competitive analyses, trace analysis for production and sales support, customer/technical service and regulatory-compliance projects.
Formula for Success: You Will
Operate and maintain various instruments in measuring physical-chemical properties, polymer and material characterization fields.
Analyze contact research partners, discuss project requirements, develop analytical strategy/plan/methods, perform analyses, interpret data, write reports and when necessary, make recommendations to solve technical problems.
Coordinate analytical activities in multiple labs, writing summary reports for projects and communicating the results to internal customer are required.
Plan and administer large projects as Project Leader and serving as Analytical Coordinator for select BUs. For some projects, analytical reports should have the quality necessary for governmental filing purposes (EPA and other government agencies).
