Director of Career Management & Employer Relations
Minimum Requirements: Knowledge equivalent to that which would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Business Administration, Communications, and/or Marketing; five to eight years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in supervision with budget responsibilities; management experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Possession of a valid vehicle operator's license is required.
Desired Qualifications: The ideal candidate will hold a Master's degree or MBA. Preferred additional qualifications include experience in corporate or university talent management, recruitment, career services and/or employer relations; successful leadership experience; demonstrated ability to network and build relations internally and externally; a positive attitude and ability to adapt to, initiate and encourage positive change, including the ability to work effectively in a strong service environment that is subject to multiple priorities; strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills; experience supervising cross functional teams, creating and delivering career development materials; making oral and written presentations through various media formats; experience with career management center platforms; and knowledge of emerging trends in undergraduate and graduate career development programming. Valid Driver's license required; domestic and international travel is required.
Job Summary: The Director of Career Management & Employer Relations will be an innovative, self-directed, ethical, and collaborative leader, who provides world-class service, guidance and career management resources to Broad graduate and undergraduate students and alumni. He/she will build and enhance relationships with a wide range of employers, alumni and college stakeholders, leading to internships and job opportunities for students and alumni. Additional responsibilities include: positively impact the rankings, reputation, and national recognition of Broad programs; oversee the collection, compilation and analysis of graduate and undergraduate employment outcome data; effectively manage the unit facilities and budget, lead a team of career services professionals to achieve long- and short-term goals; provide career counseling and placement support for graduate and undergraduate students and alumni; design, implement and evaluate career fairs, events, workshops and presentations as appropriate; and work collaboratively with colleagues and faculty to ensure industry needs and career development strategies are appropriately incorporated into graduate and undergraduate programs. This position requires regular travel involving automobile and air transportation.
