Where the Chemistry Happens
We are seeking a Maintenance Planner for our team. This position contains the MPI role of Maintenance Planner, and a portion of the Maintenance engineer role to develop and maintain PMs, and to maintain the necessary documentation to support the BASF technical standards, including PSV, regACTION, equipment files and etc. This position will be responsible for the Store Room.
Maintenance Planner (1700913)
Your primary purpose is to improve the maintenance work force productivity and work quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and coordination of manpower, parts and material, and equipment access. You will also develop, implement, and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance initiatives and maintain SAP maintenance system.
Activities include: providing technical training to craftsmen, interfacing with vendors and contractors, processing PR/PO's for parts and services, use of Amex P card for purchasing, referencing technical standards for job requirements, understanding and applying safety permits and procedures relative to maintenance and contractor activities, and maintaining and updating the site's mechanical integrity program files.
You will work closely with other site departments in order to execute maintenance activities in the most efficient manner so that all site and business objectives are met.
Formula for Success: You Will
Serve as contact and liaison person between Maintenance and Operations and other supported departments. In this capacity ensures that all internal customers of maintenance receive timely, efficient and quality service. Takes a continuing interest in internal customer needs while being aware of productions situation around schedule, and other problems. The planning role of the position helps Operations balance their need for daily output with their need of equipment reliability through pro-active planning of maintenance.
Lead long-range as well as short-range planning. Long-range planning involves regular analysis of backlog relative to available resources and Operations down time opportunities. These two basic variables must be kept in balance if a proactive maintenance environment is to be established and sustained.
Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance activities. This is to be accomplished via analysis of equipment history in SAP and other information directly from operations personnel and equipment manufacturers. Periodically reviews PM for effectiveness and makes changes as appropriate.
Execute and apply the short-range planning and scheduling process for maintenance work requests. These are:
a. Initial job screening
b. Analysis of job requirements
c. Job research
d. Detailed job planning (resources and costing)
e. Job preparation
g. Job scheduling and coordination
h. Daily schedule adjustment
Manage administrative responsibilities which include: maintains essential records and files in order to prepare accurate and meaningful management reports, Interpretation of historical equipment cost information, participation in budgetary preparation, tracking, and analysis, developing weekly backlog of maintenance requests for operations review, periodic analysis of cost trends and recommendations for continual improvement, and performs other maintenance-related tasks and special assignments as requested by the Operations Manager or TES Manager or others.
Serve as designated backup for Maintenance Supervisor, in addition to taking off hours and weekend maintenance call responsibilities. Also is one of the sites Emergency Coordinators.
Manage the maintenance storeroom, and provides direct supervision of the WWTP/Storeroom Clerk. Manage store room inventories and accuracy of inventories to support the maintenance department, following all BASF standards and requirements for control. Perform annual inventory.
