The Control Systems Technician will be part of the manufacturing team that will provide support of the control systems (DCS, PLC, SIS, etc) and operations support. The main responsibilities include providing advanced troubleshooting and support for area maintenance, process configuration, and alarm management. Support for permits, isolations, and outages will be required for operational focus.
The successful candidate will perform the following:
Provide support for operational permitting during peak permitting periods.
Lead the execution of the alarm management program.
Act as the primary contact for communication between operations and technology/control system department.
Implement and maintain graphics for operator interface.
Support area maintenance control system configuration and advanced troubleshooting.
Manage Aspen Explorer (PIMs) trends and information.
Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
Required Qualifications, Knowledge, & Skills:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 5+ years of process experience in a chemical/petrochemical or similar manufacturing environment.
Hands on knowledge and experience with control systems and equipment with an understanding of control system hardware.
Excellent team working skills.
Keen attention to detail and a high degree of quality orientation.
Strong communication skills, both orally and written.
Desired Qualifications, Knowledge, & Skills:
Strong technical problem solving skills to help in the resolution of problems in the different manufacturing areas that effect plant performance.
Board and outside experience in technology strongly preferred.
Background in Foxboro control systems.
This position requires all candidates to either possess or obtain and maintain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) Card from the U. S. Department of Homeland Security.
