The Account Manager - Channel is responsible for working with their assigned distributors to develop strategic plans around business development, resource planning and competency development. In addition, they will work with their distributors on the development of account plans focused on maintaining and growing the established business at the geographic accounts, within the distributors area. The individual is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships at all levels within our distributor organizations to ensure continued development of the distributor organization. This role will coordinate activities and resource utilization with others in the sales organization, implement and measure all Allen-Bradley (A-B) channel commercial programs and act as the single point of contact for each assigned distributor.
Managers the development of assigned distributors and their performance.
Analyzes account requirements and develop an account penetration plan with the distributor and account sales engineers to increase market share.
Resolves channel issues resulting in conflict (i.e. APR violations etc)
Measures distributor performance and implement distributor performance improvement programs.
Facilitates the implementation of new product launches and promotional programs through the direction of all channel team resources, including the distributor's personnel.
Takes an active role in coaching the distributor personnel and evaluating their competency in the support of Rockwell Automation products and services.
Assures that we have a consistent high level of distributor capabilities to serve all customers in the assigned geography.
- Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent four years of experience within the industry.
- 5 or more years of successful sales experience in technical sales, distributor, integrator or engineering firm, or graduate of the Rockwell Automation Sales Training Program.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability for local travel greater than 50% of time.
- Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
- Experience working with selling automation or electrical products to industrial manufacturing plants including VPs, plant engineers and OEM machine builders.
- Experience with the development of distributor partners within the electrical / automation industry.
