The MES Functional Lead is a professional experienced consultant or engineer able to lead key MES project activities such as functional requirements, design specifications, system demonstration, training and support. It includes managing the quoting, customer and sales contacts required to obtain planned level of incoming business.

He / She must have good understanding of software design methodologies
The position combines significant elements of Sales, Marketing and Engineering. In addition to the generation of quotations and customer visits, this person is also responsible for being the liaison and technical expert to support appropriate market channels. This channel support includes providing application expertise of systems and solutions for their specific industries.

ESSENTIONAL FUNCTIONS:

• Functional:
  - Have the ability to quickly learn and articulate the features and benefits of new products and solutions, and use this information in developing new customer opportunities for our business.
  - Have a good understanding of industry specific applications, engineering principles and how to apply them.
  - Expertise with definition of user requirements, functional requirements, Functional and Design specifications
  - Designs and configures Rockwell Automation software solutions to meet customer project requirements
   
• Leadership:
  - Act as a coach to engineering and other specialists on MES solutions.
  - It is expected that the Functional Lead will take an active role in paper preparations as well as presentations and appropriate committee or sub-committee work.
   
• Interpersonal:
  - Displays dedication and concern toward completing work correctly, thoroughly and in an appropriately timely manner.
  - Communications with project teams to ensure that they have all of the information required to successfully implement projects.
  - Interface and provide direct input with other RA product groups such that the corporate marketing goals are united.
  - Interface appropriately with vendors to ensure the requirements of the order execution are satisfied in a physically responsible manner.

  - Understands the nature of the specific industry served and the available market.
  - Keeps a whole company perspective in mind relative to systems and solutions specific opportunities.
  - Establishes a good network of contacts within the industry as well as within the entire RA organization.
  - Coordinate customer requirements with engineering and other appropriate departments to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction is achieved.
