The newly created role of Senior Manager, Enterprise Master Data Management will develop, design and implement a Master Data Framework at Otsuka. This position will manage the Master Data across functions, while establishing the appropriate governance, technology, standards, processes and policy for the organization. The position will have an active role in supporting data cleansing efforts from Oracle and SAP ARIBA, with a future integration of SAP 4/Hana. - Develop and maintain the MDM strategy (goals, objectives, priorities, and scope) for all business areas through data governance
- Deploying, managing and enforcing standards and rules for data management and usage
- Maintaining Business rules and managing Metadata
- Ensuring creators, users and administrators of the data are educated on data governance standards, policies, processes, procedures and tools
- Developing and Implementing policies, guidelines, business definitions, metrics, and standards for managing information
- Evaluating, managing and resolving issues and risks to ensure business alignment
- Providing operational leadership and authority
- Collaborating with other functional area stewards on serving business needs & triaging requests from functional areas
Responsibilities include but not limited to the following: - Develop a future Master Data Management Framework and team to support the MDM Model;
- Serve as lead authority on Data Governance for all enterprise master data elements
- Identify and assign the appropriate business owner of each data field and specify the frequency at which each data field should be reviewed;
- Train business owners on the data definitions for the data fields they own;
- Hold business owners responsible and accountable for reviewing the master data within the specified frequency to ensure it is correct;
- Train business owners on the creation, change, extension and extinction procedures and ensure these procedures are used correctly;
- Develop and implement the use of global standard automated workflows to regulate the change, creation, extension and extinction process so that only approved and accurate data is uploaded, approved and maintained by the appropriate business owners;
- Develop and implement a periodic review of all master data, vendor data and customer data to ensure data is current and accurate across functions and divisions as well as provide metrics to ensure the reviews are completed;
- Provide work direction and guidance to direct reports and divisional resources to assure completion of assigned tasks and other duties;
- Responsible for policy and procedure development reviews / improvements and facilitating procedure updates with process owners;
- Assure that all company personnel are adequately trained in the principals, policies, and procedures of the configuration management system;
- Support Business Projects including integrations, SAP roll outs, etc.;
- Drive process improvements;
- Engage and educate business owners;
- Focus on process excellence and data quality.
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance is required with 8 years experience effectively working with and implementing master data systems, processes and procedures across functions.
- 8 years experience in master data management with a large ERP is required, preferably, Oracle/SAP;
- Experience with SAP ARIBA is strongly preferred
- ERP Implementation experience required
- Experience successfully communicating complex technical concepts, processes and procedures to all levels of audiences from senior management to end-users is required.
- Ability to work in and/or lead a team is required
- Ability to clearly and accurately define problems by collecting data and facts and the ability to develop solutions to those problems;
- Excellent organizational, analytical, ability to multi task and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
