Robotics Technician I

JOB SUMMARY Responsible for assisting in the housekeeping, general maintenance, and repair of the building.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Repairs and makes improvements to building and infrastructure.
Maintains a "safety before service" culture by promoting and driving safe work practices timely training, best practices as well as delivering rewards and recognitions to promote safe behavior.
Light metal and wood fabrications, including welding.
Maintains and repairs distribution center racking.
Assists Service Technicians repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and building pneumatic system
Performs battery changes and preventive maintenance on batteries.
Enters e-mail communication and date entry for database, downtime data in daily log, and completes PM sheets.
Identifies and troubleshoots problems and understand resources needed to resolve them.
Tracks and stores the department's inventory, including spare parts.
Supporting continuous improvement in department
Performs other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. 1-4 years experience required.
CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES None.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information.
FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations. Ability to solve problems in standard situations. Requires intermediate analytical and quantitative skills.
OTHER SKILLS and/or ABILITIES Basic skills with Microsoft Office Outlook.
Physical Demands: 1. Repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, sitting, standing, and walking 2. Lifting parts and tools weighing on average 20 pounds, occasionally weighing up to 80 pounds 3. Dexterity in eye/hand coordination, feet (foot pedals) manual (picking, pinching, holding, grasping), and wrist motion (repetitive flexion/rotation) 4. Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes/odors, hot/cold temperatures, inside/outside noise, vibration, standing on concrete for long hours and wet or uneven surfaces
Required: 1. Metal and wood fabrication skills.
Preferred: 1. Robotics or electromechanical experience.
