JOB SUMMARY Provides business analysis, project support and coordination. Analyzes existing functionality, recommends process improvements and feature implementations to improve productivity of the department. Creates production and ad-hoc reporting of human resources related information for use within human resources and internal company departments. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Supports PeopleSoft 9.2 payroll, benefits, and time & labor modules, working with internal customers to ensure accurate and timely running of payroll systems. Monitors systems for problems. Identifies and implements corrective and preventative actions. Performs analysis and develops solutions to complex or unusual problems relating to special management studies for Company wide administrative programs. Develops and maintains a strong working knowledge of HR Systems in order to effectively utilize its capabilities. Acts as liaison between human resources information systems (HRIS) and internal HR departments to ensure the entire department's system needs are being met. Ensures files exchanged between internal and external sources and systems are received and run successfully. Coordinates collection and preparation of routine and special reports such as time and attendance, records, terminations and new hires. Provides assistance in system upgrades/patches through testing, reporting and analysis of changes. Assists the HRIS and payroll managers with project management of HR projects as assigned. Other duties may be assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. Provides informal assistance such as technical guidance and/or training to coworkers. May lead project teams and/or plan, and supervise assignments of lower level employees. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) from 4-year college or university and 5 to 8 years of related experience. CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES None COMMUNICATION SKILLS Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information. FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE Thorough knowledge of payroll processes including data entry, pay calculations, tax and benefits, multi-state taxation rules, wage and hour laws, etc. Ability to calculate complex figures. REASONING ABILITY Ability to comprehend, analyze and interpret complex documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options. Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills. OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES Client/Server payroll/HR system knowledge required. PeopleSoft Human Capital Management system experience desired. Self-service/web based application experience desired. Ability to create complex query and report generation tools. Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications. SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY Decisions made with thorough understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve results and deadlines. Responsible for setting work unit and/or project deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to department.
