The Wells Fargo Experience Design (XD) team designs experiences that people love and confidently engage to improve their financial lives. The Role

The role of the Payments UX Architect partners with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Data Analytics to ensure our most important product design initiatives are grounded in an overarching UX strategy with a clear line of sight to customer and business outcomes.  The UX Architect will ensure there is a mapping of the customer journey and these journeys are supported with the appropriate solutions, rationale and artifacts to solve customer problems in market.  He/she will be expected to lead initiatives which bring together senior stakeholders to drive collaboration, understanding and decision making.  This role may not have direct reports but will be expected to lead multidisciplinary teams in a variety of design initiatives from customer insights development to prototyping multitouch point customer experience.  This position reports to the SVP of User Experience, Payments.

In this highly visible role, you will be responsible for providing strategic direction and serves as UX Architect for the Front Doors Experience. The Front Doors Experience is looking at how we enable a user who comes to Wells Fargo to feel like we are the bank that satisfies all their financial needs and we can help them succesd financially. This role is responsible for the UX vision and roadmap spanning multiple funding cycles. Work with multiple high-level stakeholders to prioritize and plan work based on customer and business KPIs; communicates plans and rationale for changes to key stakeholders.

• 12+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: digital customer experience, digital product/program management, digital platforms, or digital consulting

• Financial services industry experience
• Knowledge and understanding of project management principles: managing projects from beginning to end; that vary in scope and complexity
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

• 12+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: multi-channel digital customer experience, service design, or UX consulting
• Proven track record of developing & delivering UX strategies for multi-channel products
• Of the following skills, demonstrated mastery/expertise in 1, and strength in 2 more: : Information Architecture, Service Design, Interaction Design, Visual Design, Content Strategy, and User Research
• Experience leading a program of work across multiple teams through the full product development cycle (discovery, concepts, prototypes, specs)
• Proven track record of articulating a strong design rationale; storytelling skills that compel stakeholders; connect design decisions to broader strategic and business decisions; comfort presenting to all levels of seniority
• Vendor management experience
• 10+ years of experience in Human Computer Interaction, user research, design or a related field
• 10+ years working in a product team, shipping products
• Mobile and web experience
• Expertise in combining qualitative and quantitative data
• Expertise in setting customer-backed visions and inspiring others to get behind them
• Knowledgeable and have a deep understanding of the user-centered design process, including personas, task analysis, task flows, problem framing, interaction design, and content strategy
• Master's Degree or PhD in human behavior related field (Psychology, Social Science, Information Science, etc.)
• Deep expertise in both generative and evaluative research methods
• Proven ability to deliver products and/or services that are known for delightful experiences and ease of use
• Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods

• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
