Design, develop, implement, test, support and maintain software solutions to meet business requirements. Write functional documents and design technical specifications. Work closely with business users, technology groups, program management, product management, quality analysts on the preparation of test cases. Test software through unit testing, test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification, fixing, and resolution. Maintain full project life-cycle tasks, such as business and technical analysis, designing, coding, testing, and implementation plans. Conduct code reviews with team members to advance application upgrade, extension, or other development. Analyze application for data integrity issues. Maintain all system diagrams, system interface charts and any other compliance policy and procedure documents. Provide production support to end users with support teams
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of software engineering experience
- 4+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: securities, quants, artificial intelligence, or machine learning
- A BS/BA degree or higher
- 7+ years of Java experience
- 5+ years of experience supporting, implementing, or administrating Bloomberg interfaces such as BPIPE, TSADF, Market Data or AF
- 3+ years of Thomson Reuters experience
- 5+ years of Windows or Linux scripting experience
- 5+ years of experience with Linux OS environment
- 5+ years of advanced scripting experience using Unix Shell Scripting, Perl, Python, Java, or PL-SQL
- 5+ years of experience with multiple RDBMS such as Oracle, MS SQL, Teradata or DB2 LUW
- 5 + years of experience with Agile tools
- 5+ years of experience with Waterfall and Agile project methodologies
Desired Qualifications
- A Masters degree or higher in computer science or finance
- A professional certification in technology
- Basic knowledge of industry regulations related to building technological solutions
- Knowledge and understanding of data: key risks and mitigating approaches in market data compliance
- Knowledge and understanding of market data consumers or vendors
- Knowledge and understanding of market data entitlements best practices and processes
- Knowledge and understanding of market data with consumer firms or vendor firms
- A BS/BA degree or higher in science or technology
- Knowledge and understanding of network, distributed system, applications or event management disciplines
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Good attention to detail and accuracy skills
- Good analytical skills including analyzing complex data
- Knowledge and understanding of technical documentation: impact analysis, detailed designs and unit test plans
- Ability to turn preliminary or ambiguous information, ideas, or problems into well-defined plans and solutions
- Ability to achieve high production and quality standards
- Ability to act as a subject matter expert
Other Desired Qualifications Extensive knowledge of equity and equity derivative securities (stocks, bonds, options, futures, indices, structured products). Extensive knowledge of market data APIs and integration with vendor platforms such as Bloomberg, Reuters, ACTIV, MarkIT, Copp Clark and others. Extensive knowledge of Security Pricing, Corporate Actions, Index Rebalancing, Dividend Projections, Holiday Calendar etc. Experience working with trading desks, middle office, back office. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Analytical problem solving skills. Attention to detail and thoroughness a must. Proactive team member with *can-do* attitude
