What you’ll be doing...

You will be part of the Enterprise Risk Management organization, assisting with overseeing policies, processes, people and systems andpartnering with business leaders to identify and mitigate financial, operational, legal, regulatory and reputational risks. As asubject matter expert, you will take a key role in ensuring compliance with privacy laws and regulations and environmental, social and governance (ESG) reporting standards. This includes developing and conducting internal controlassessments, documenting processes, workflows, and developing recommendations to address any identified gaps. Your work will help us improve our process and come up with ways to make your control environment even stronger. Come help us keep the businessrunning better every day.

• Conducting controls assessments to support compliance with privacy laws and regulations.
• Supporting the implementation of new privacy and ESG controls to reduce the risk to the business.
• Documenting workflows to identify gaps and provide process enhancement recommendations.
• Reviewing and validating ESG metrics to support sustainability reporting.
• Assisting with development, implementation and maintenance of privacy and data protection policies and standard operating procedures for GDPR, CCPA and other emerging domestic and global privacy laws.
• Using data mining, statistical analysis and other techniques to assess the effectiveness ofcontrols and perform testing as needed to identify root-cause issues.
• Providing recommendations to mitigatecontrols that are not operating effectively.
• Managing frequent, ad hoc requests from the business for assistance regarding controls and compliance.
• Preparing and delivering executive reporting tocommunicatethe status of the Verizon's risk landscape.

You’ll need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Four or more years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in operational compliance, business controls or Finance.
• Knowledge of statistics, reporting and analytical tools.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.

Even better if you have:

• A degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Math, or Information.
• A Professional certification (CIPP, CPA, CIA, CISA, CFE).
• Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise sound and balanced judgment.
• Knowledge of privacy and sustainable reporting frameworks.
• Knowledge of risk frameworks (COSO, NIST, ISO, COBIT etc.)
• Knowledge of CCPA, GDPR and other emerging privacy laws.
• Experience with data mining tools and data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau).
• Experience interpreting and implementing policies and processes to ensure a strong control environment.
• Experience leveraging auditing principles and methods to evaluate policies, processes and systems to identify business risks and control gaps.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of compliance standards and frameworks including Sarbanes Oxley, SOC 1 (SSAE 18), SOC 2/3 (Trust Services Principles), ISO (27001, 27017).
• Demonstrated organizational, facilitation and negotiation skills.
• Telecommunications experience.
