Responsible for the Software & Control (SWC) business in EMEA. Driving product strategy definition, requirements analysis, and pricing strategy. Development of business plans, managing lifecycles, and product positioning in the marketplace. Reduces broad concepts and business strategies into structured growth plans. Interacts with customers, engineering, R&D and sales to enhance existing product(s) or product line(s). Leads new product introductions and business plans with joint departments. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Orders, sales, and margin responsibility for the business. Leads an international and multicultural team of people. Representative of the SWC business unit in EMEA, establish good working relationships with other functions like operations, finance, sales, marketing, and others.
  • Drive the business forward to exceed the yearly orders and sales plan.
  • Drive the team to successfully convert customers from competitive technologies to Rockwell Automation.
  • Works on continuous strategic 5-year business planning to prepare the future of the business and the team.
  • Provide feedback to the global business units on the market trends, defining new market opportunities and actions to win.
  • Take the lead in driving increased levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Manage the team's budget.
  • Build a high performing organization - improve team and individual capability. Develop key talent in the team.
  • Able to operate in a challenging environment and make tough decisions.
  • Make appropriate & timely decisions based on current information and ensure adherence to existing company policy.
  • Be the spokesperson for the SWC team with sales and/or customers.
  • Develop a pipeline of inorganic growth opportunities in the region.
  • Ensure that business ethics are always followed.
  • Provide timely information to support effective management of the business to all levels.
  • Co-operate with the sales force in promoting the SWC product offering at direct customers and channel partners.
  • Plan and execute commercial programs related to product responsibility.
  • Analyze competitive product lines, have knowledge of competitor's strategy, further define competitive differentiators.
  • Lead launch of new products to the sales force and channel.
  • Collaborate and share insights with regional and global peers.
  • Understand business models, organization and go to market strategy, leverage where appropriate.
  • Knowledge of the industry strategies, familiarity with outcome-based selling.
  • Understands the business drivers and KPI's of the customer.
  • Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of the company.
  • Has overall control of planning, staffing, budgeting, and managing expense budgets.
  • Participates with other senior leaders to establish strategic plans and objectives.
  • Regularly interacts with executives and/or major customers. Interactions frequently involve special skills, such as negotiating with customers or management or attempting to influence senior level leaders of the organization.
  • Regular interaction with senior management.
  • Coaches others/their team to improve performance and achieve their goals.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate engagement levels for the team by providing an environment supportive of employee development and advancement while ensuring the availability of the proper mix of competencies and experience to support the business.
  • Influence and operate across a highly matrixed organization.
  • Values working in a team-oriented culture and building consensus with stakeholders before making key decisions.
  • Actively pursues personal continuous learning, development of skills and knowledge in job-related technical and professional areas.
  • Actively participates in calls and meetings via phone or in-person, as needed.
  • Travel to customers within EMEA will be required (+/- 50% of time; global travel may be required)
