The Digital Technology and Innovation group supports the Corporate Strategy, Digital Platform & Innovation Business. Together they work closely to continue evolving Wells Fargo's digital platforms and enhance integration of the innovation pipeline into our customer-facing capabilities.

We are seeking a Software Engineer to act as a technical lead and provide technical guidance and consultation with application teams, clients, and Engineering Managers for operationalization of AI (Artificial Intelligence) models. The right candidate will have expert level experience in Python, Scala and Hadoop Big Data environments.  The role will require the candidate to be the technical subject matter expert for key AI model tasks.

Roles and Responsibilities :

1. Design API and Batch applications for deploying models to production
2. Create application architecture and design documentation
3. Develop applications using Agile methodologies
4. Perform unit testing
5. Support application deployment to production
6. Interact with various teams to conduct daily work

Other duties of this role may include:

• Designs, codes, tests, debugs and documents programs using Agile development practices
• Provides the strategy and design for projects associated with their technology domain including, upgrades and deployments
• Directs the gathering of performance statistics to assist in determining hardware and communication tools needed to support projected transaction volumes, response time and system availability targets
• As an escalation point, provides guidance and direction to less experienced staff in resolution of highly complex technical problems

Selected candidate will be required to work within one of the following Wells Fargo locations: 2600 S Price Rd., Chandler, AZ; 1100 Corporate Center Dr., Raleigh, NC; 1525 W. W.T. Harris Blvd, Charlotte, NC. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

• 5+ years of software engineering experience
• 1+ years of experience writing Functional Specifications Documents (FSD's)
• 1+ years of experience in Artificial Intelligence, Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, Distributed Computing, Chatbot, and Virtual Assistant

• An industry-standard technology certification
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Knowledge and understanding of Big Data
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work and influence successfully within a matrix environment and build effective business partnerships with all levels of team members
