The Legal Department supports the vision, values & goals of Wells Fargo by providing expert, creative, cost-effective, and timely advice and services to all Wells Fargo businesses and support functions. We operate in accordance with the highest standards of judgment, integrity, and ethical leadership to find creative solutions that best serve our customers, prudently manage risks, and contribute to Wells Fargo's enterprise success. Responds to administratively filed employment claims of moderate to high risk and complexity on behalf of Wells Fargo. Primary responsibility is to analyze and respond to legal claims pending with the EEOC or related state agencies by current and former team members. Key function is to draft clear and effective position statements setting forth the company's response to the claims. Additional duties include: investigating merits of administratively filed employment claims; evaluating legal risk of claims; advising management and attorney partners of merits and risks of defense of claims; responding to written legal threats from attorneys; consulting on basic employee relations issues. May attend mediations, settlement conferences and agency conferences under the direction of an attorney. Drafts settlement documents. Participates in employment related work teams and activities within the Legal Department. Collaborates within the department and across business and staff functions to address legal and risk issues in a manner consistent with the best interests of Wells Fargo.
