Job Description: As Technical Support Engineer, you will work with our Product Development team located at our Brossard Campus. The customers you will support are in a variety of industries ranging from manufacturing, packaging, transportation, public utilities, oil & gas and other process industries. You will provide customer support and technical services on behalf of Rockwell Automation and its distributors. Duties of the engineer will be focused on technical services that may include Software design tools and embedded software troubleshooting and functional workarounds for equipment / systems in a wide variety of applications. Overview of typical activities: - Support for Rockwell Automation Software Products within the technician's skillset.
- Rockwell Automation software product support, training, and implementation support
- Resolve issues related to design tools by collaborating with Rockwell Automation Engineering for support related to resolution of reported customer issues.
- Interact with customers and provide technical support to the product management team
- Develop and maintain a lasting relationship with customers
- Be attentive and meet the high expectations of customers
- Manage customer support database and maintain metrics for resolutions
- Installation support
- May include hands on instruction/training of Rockwell Automation customers on proper use, operation, and maintenance of Rockwell Products
- Produce clear instructions and troubleshooting sequence flows for customers needing help.
Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree preferred, or equivalent experience
- Legal authorization to work in Canada is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
Preferred Qualifications: - Typically requires 2-4 years directly related experience.
- Ability to work onsite at our Brossard Campus
- Knowledge of programming languages C / C ++ & C#.
- Experience in programming control systems (SCADA, PLC, DCS) using automation software design tools.
- Bilingual oral and written in French and English.
- Successful candidates will possess outstanding problem solving and analytical skills, the ambition and ability to work independently, and have strong communication skills.
- Rockwell Automation software /product knowledge with troubleshooting experience is preferred
- Rockwell Controller: MicroLogix, RSLOGIX experience is preferred
- Network configuration and troubleshooting experience with Ethernet
- Relationship building and influencing skills
- Conflict management resolution skills
