Job Description Position Summary The Pricing Strategy Manager will own and lead the global pricing strategy for the business unit based upon business strategy and competitive market dynamics. This role will drive consistent implementation of strategies, processes and tools across the organization. Collaborate with marketing and regionals teams to conduct market research and perform competitive pricing analysis, drive pricing simplification efforts and business growth initiatives resulting in improved customer experience. Create a value-based pricing culture supported by necessary business and pricing processes, tools and structures. Additionally, this role will coordinate and support all pricing operational activities including but not limited to annual price adjustment, negotiated pricing contract analysis, decision authority, outlier management and contract evaluations for the organization. Principal Duties and Responsibilities - Lead all new product introduction pricing activities. Ensures competitive price levels are set to set to achieve business strategy and objectives.
- Lead segment level pricing guidance activities differentiated by customer segments such as customer type, size, and industries for global and local customers. Lead outlier management process. Work with channels organization on distributor discounting guidelines.
- Define, improve and simplify pricing structure for the portfolios, such as list price, discounts, and portfolio alignment and simplification. Ensure consistent implementation of strategies across the organization.
- Create and establish rules to reduce cycle time and improve turnaround time on pricing opportunities, internally and externally.
- Drive price realization/variance activity, provide guidance to improve price realization without negatively impacting business. Comfortable with large set of data and interpreting it into meaningful trends and insights.
- Collaborate with Global Revenue Management organization to drive consistent pricing strategy across the organization. Review decision authority set points. Work with business leaders and Global Sales to set appropriate levels.
- Lead pricing competency development within the organization and automation of next generation data analytics and capabilities for reports and dashboards.
- Demonstrate integrity, positive attitude, solid work ethic, commitment to stakeholders, passion for excellence and adherence to Rockwell Automation policies.
Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering discipline, MBA preferred.
- Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of experience including at least 2 years of commercial experience through direct sales or product management.
- Motivated leader, self-starter with ability to work independently and achieve results. Demonstrated ability to work through & with others to get results.
- Demonstrated grasp of financial concepts, and data management.
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into value-added business analytics solutions. Process oriented and analytical in approach.
- Proficiency with Commercial Price Optimization/ Guidance tools such as Vendavo, and PROS.
- Demonstrated ability to build & leverage networks, Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate & influence at all levels in the organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office required. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power Point, and PROS, or other business analytics applications a plus.
Desired Qualifications - Prior experience in an internal consulting role helpful.
- Experience with software subscription pricing along with hardware pricing would be a plus.
- Equally comfortable working independently and collaborating with others having diverse perspectives and skillsets.
- Excellent client relationship skills to work with different levels of business leadership and individual business users.
- Excellent time management, organizational and problem solving skills; able to manage and execute on simultaneous projects.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to make complex concepts understood by diverse non-technical audiences.
