Department Overview
The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) group is responsible for Agile, Architecture, Services, Product Development and Cloud, Engineering, and Tools, Site Reliability, as well as training and processes to enable the Wells Fargo Technology organization and the company to achieve this transformation.
About the Role:
Responsible for establishing disciplined, effective agile teams which embrace and exhibit the agile mindset, by instructing the team or teams in agile principles and practices. Effectively leverages and combines different industry standard scaling concepts to specific business problems in a manner that best supports scaled agile values and principles, as well as Wells Fargo Vision and Values. Responsible for guiding teams on the first principle of Agile Coaching to deliver working software. Using domain knowledge, offers credible guidance to begin pipeline and team process, structure work, create value streams, and start/growth of scaling activities. Develops collaborative working relationships with multiple levels of managers, and steering committees with a focus on scaling agile within an organization or line of business. Helps leaders understand associated continuous delivery implications and the structure required to sufficiently support the software. Fosters maturation of agile mindset by asking powerful questions focusing on scaled program planning, scrum-of-scrums, identification of cross-program dependencies, scaled release planning, empirical data for decision models, and ultimate delivery of work efforts.
Responsibilities- Drive the organization-wide Agile adoption strategy and rollout of strategic execution plans
- Engage with 3 or more Agile teams and coach them through a journey of Agile adoption
- Support and coach the Product Owner, especially on grooming and maintaining the product backlog
- Coach the team and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to delight customers
- Coach the team on self-Organizing to fill in the gaps in the Agile/Scrum adoption
- Develops and monitors metrics to track progress of Agile adoption and maturity to aid in accelerating overall Agile transformation efforts
- Work with other Agile Coaches and Scrum Masters to increase the effectiveness of the adoption of Agile Ways of Working in the organization
- Coordinate and facilitate agile related community of practice activities to drive shared learnings across the enterprise
- Develop agile training materials and process guidelines; deliver hands on training in support of enterprise-wide initiatives for agile development
- Provide guidance to support migration from project centric organization to product centric organization
Essential Qualifications
- 12+ years IT delivery experience
- 8+ years of agile software development.
- 2+ years as a Scrum Master
- 3+ years as an Agile Coach applying several industry best practices.
- Experience working with Agile Project Teams, Scrum Teams, kanban teams, and Product Teams
Desired Skills
- Relevant certification like Certified Agile Coach ICP-ACC, PMI-ACP, CSP, CSM, PSM
- Deep understanding of multiple Agile methodologies like Scrum, Kanban, XP practices and DevOps Practices
- Capable of mentoring, facilitating and coaching application development teams to adopt Continuous Delivery practices such as TDD, BDD, Pair Programming, and other Lean/Agile Modeling Techniques
- Very good understanding of DevOps principles (CI/CD, testing automation, release automation)
- Demonstrated experience scaling initiatives leveraging modern agile frameworks such as safe less or DAD
