Log Conversion personnel are responsible for handling/assembling raw materials, work in process and finished goods. They are also responsible for operating equipment safely per 3M Oak Hills quality system procedures. The Log Conversion Operator is responsible for following procedures for product assembly/fabrication, equipment operation, and safety requirements as documented in the company's training and quality systems. Performs set-ups, makes adjustments, and operates production equipment. Maintains acceptable quality and productivity department standards. Uses precision measuring equipment. Works independently with minimal supervision. Employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without a reasonable accommodation.

• Follow safe work procedures and safety policies including the usage of personal protective equipment. Report all safety hazards to supervisor or lead person. Maintain a neat and orderly work area
• Observe all plant and company policies
• Engage in plant continuous improvement and problem solving
• Regular and predictable attendance is essential for the position
• Assists in basic training of co-workers on an as-needed basis
• Uses computer systems as appropriate within department to perform job functions
• Ability to be trained cross-functionally and work on cross-functional teams
• Operate machinery to include, but not limited to Metis Cutter/Truer, Downdraft Deburr Station, Grieve Oven, and Aluma Lift

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED or higher from an accredited institution (completed and verified prior to start)
• Available for weekend work, working overtime, rotating shifts, and/or short notice shift coverage

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in manufacturing and/or warehouse in a private, public, government, or military environment
• Experience working in a Lean Manufacturing work environment
• Ability to communicate, oral and written, effectively

• Experience handling hazardous waste material
