What We’re Looking For Baylor University is seeking a high energy and passionate Talent Acquisition Specialist (TAS) to serve as a talent advisor to Hiring Managers and Search Committees for an average of 25 or more active searches at all times. The successful candidate will have a track record of success passively sourcing high quality diverse candidates, strong and engaging presentation skills, and a desire to consistently create positive customer interactions. Additionally, strong presentation skills are a must as the Talent Acquisition team hosts weekly new hire orientations and regularly facilitates search committee compliance training. The ideal candidate will be proficient in the following skills: - Consulting: First and foremost, the TAS is a Human Resources professional and should be well versed in employment law, and best interview and hiring practices. This position proactively advises and consults with campus partners and search committees on the selection process, interview design and questions, and final candidate selection.
- Sourcing: As the assigned lead recruiter for individual searches, the TAS passively sources high-quality candidates and crafts impactful and engaging external advertisements to attract a high-quality diverse pool of applicants. TAS actively manages candidate pools to advise hiring managers throughout recruitment process.
- Collaboration: This position actively engages with HR partners such as HR Consultants, Compensation, and Benefits in facilitating an efficient search process. Additionally, the TAS collaborates with hiring managers, departmental leadership, Business Officers, and other campus stakeholders.
- Service: The TAS promotes and embraces a service minded approach to all constituents with a focus of ONE team and assuming positive intent. Additionally, this position supports and continually develops a high degree of service in the team’s contributions to campus.
A Bachelor’s Degree, one year of recruiting experience, and a Christian faith are required. Three years of recruiting and sourcing experience are preferred. What You Will Do - Champion equity and best practices in Baylor’s recruiting, onboarding, and support of hiring managers.
- Assist hiring managers and search committees in identifying top talent for a wide variety of positions using passive sourcing, providing proactive Talent Acquisition consultative skills, and recommending quality applicants based upon a professional assessment of candidate qualifications.
- Serve as the Talent Acquisition lead for 20-30 active searches.
- Positively promote the Baylor brand and be a change agent for the University’s equity and diversity efforts in recruitment.
- Engage, assess, and advise applicants on position qualifications and applicant materials.
- Represent Baylor HR at special events both on and off campus such as staff events and forums and community job fairs.
- Consult with hiring managers on selection process best practices including candidate qualifications, number and types of interview rounds, interview questions, search committee composition, and equity and diversity initiatives.
- Serve as host for new hire orientations and provide an enthusiastic, engaging, and informative new hire experience.
- Facilitate various search committee trainings and discussions on topics such as best interviewing practices, search compliance, and employment law.
