The Impact You'll Make in this Role

This is an informational notice for a position opening in the Hutchinson Site Plant Engineering Group for a (Data) Systems Technician. This position is currently for day shift and will provide data collection/automation systems support activities for the Hutchinson site. The winning candidate will be selected using qualifications, experience, skills assessment, customer feedback, and interview results.

As a (Data) S ystems Technician , you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Leading data automation development through system integrations
• Testing and implementing production solutions to benefit all employees
• Identifying opportunities and new applications for data automation
• Supporting high performance Engineering Teams to drive productivity improvements

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:

• Possess an Associate's Degree or higher in a technical field such as Automation and Robotics, SCADA, etc. or related. (completed and verified prior to start)
• At least three (3) years of manufacturing experience in a private or public environment.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Demonstrated knowledge of PLCs/PLC Programming, SCADA environments, Ethernet and Modbus network communications, Microsoft Development Environment, and Windows operating systems.
• Experience with software application or database design, programming, and maintenance.
• This position may require you to prepare and present on project progress in front of groups of all sizes
• This position will require you to develop and apply project management skills to provide support including: examining project scope, specifications and other project requirements.
• This person must assist engineering by providing input and support for new equipment installations, equipment renewal and / or reliability improvement efforts.

Travel: May include up to 5% domestic

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
