The Director, Accounting is responsible for leading the execution of Zulily accounting policies and procedures. Research and interpretation of US GAAP guidance, serves as an advisor to the Zulily business directly and Business Planning and Analysis department on accounting treatment among other responsibilities.  This leader will have significant integration points with Transaction Services, Business Planning and Analysis, Liberty accounting leadership as well as the external audit firm personnel. 

Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership. Provides guidance, training, and motivation to develop staff skills.  Interviews, hires, evaluates, counsels, and terminates staff in accordance with all applicable Human Resource policies and procedures.  Recommends and communicates salary increases in accordance with corporate guidelines.

• Reserve Adequacy and accounting transaction US GAAP application for Zulily.

• Accounting Close/Issues – General Ledger Close for Zulily and it’s international subsidiaries, research of US GAAP accounting guidance and consultation with the business and within Finance. Chart of Accounts – standards, definitions, and account architecture. 

• Planning of System integrations including SAP.  Open and transparent communication of issues affecting financial results and communication of results on a monthly, quarterly and YTD basis. Liberty Ledger reporting and SEC Reporting support – 10Q, 10K, MD&A for Zulily included in Qurate’s filings.

• Process Improvement, Policy and Procedures, as well as assisting in the accounting research, interpretation, and execution of all new accounting pronouncements for Zulily.

• Audit Interactions. Coordinates the annual audit of Zulily’s financial records by an independent auditing firm.  Prepares required analysis, fields and resolves questions, monitors progress of the audits, and implements auditing recommendations.

• General oversight of Accounts Payable and Payroll. Coordinates with QRG / GBS and business teams to deliver consistent service levels and drive working capital improvements.
