Current Need A high-profile contributing role focusing on all advisory and technical accounting matters pertaining to worldwide business transactions and policies. The position will report to the Sr. Director on the team consisting of 7 individuals covering accounting and valuation considerations. Position Description - Manage corporate and business unit-related technical accounting matters and related business processes. Sample technical matters include, but are not limited to, investments, derivatives and hedging, business combination and divestures, VIE/consolidation/equity method analyses, revenue recognition, leases, restructuring, debt, inventory accounting, goodwill and long-lived assets impairment analysis, fair value assessments including intangible valuations and exposure to tax accounting matters.
- Partner with corporate departments, business units and business development team to support activities by providing technical accounting evaluation of potential deal structure for investments, acquisitions, divestitures, strategic planning or other alliance transactions
- Provide technical accounting support to business units in connection with the implementation of various changes in accounting policies, procedures and adoption of new accounting standards
- Develop and present complex accounting matters/ conclusions to company's executive leadership
- External reporting support- responsible for certain areas of the 10-Q/10-K filings, including those pertaining to significant and non/recurring transactions
- Maintain and execute adequate internal controls responsibilities and update 404 narratives, as needed
- Liaise with external auditors on complex business development transactions, provide quarterly updates and achieve alignment on accounting positions
- Participate in due diligence process and highlight accounting issues and key risks and various other ad-hoc projects or initiatives
Qualifications Minimum Requirements 7+ years accounting experience including 4+ years managerial experience Critical Skills - Must have Big Four experience either currently or in the recent past
- Proficient in US GAAP, SEC reporting, including business combination and divesture, VIE/consolidation/equity method, revenue recognition, fair value assessments and SOX requirements
- CPA required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (ability to develop concise and effective communications tailored to specific audiences)
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Strong ability to influence and provide strategic recommendations
- Prior experience managing multiple projects, competing priorities, and short deadlines
- Proven leadership experience to drive prompt resolution and communication of technical issues and process improvements
- Experience working across multiple levels (including executive level), functions and regions
Additional Knowledge & Skills - Thorough knowledge of accounting policies, practices and systems, such as SAP, JDE, HFM
Education - 4-year degree in accounting or related field or equivalent experience, advanced degree preferred
