Position Summary

We are actively looking to recruit a Vice President of Operations who will oversee all 3PL operations within RxCrossroads. The incumbent will report directly to the General Manager and will provide leadership to a large team operating amongst multiple distribution centers in the great Kentucky and Ohio region.

The Vice President of Operations must be collaborative, innovative, and a proven champion of the customer journey, who works closely with internal and external partners to drive best in class operations and business growth. As a senior leader, this position will be responsible for the planning, overseeing and directing the management of inventory management, facilities, capital planning, setting strategy and new business development. S/He will work with both internal teams and will participate in client meetings as a representative of RxCrossroads 3PL Operations and have a key seat on the leadership team which is responsible for setting the strategy and vision for the multi billion-dollar business unit.

The role must be able to balance the challenges of meeting short-term objectives, while remaining committed to the long-term strategic needs of the company. This leader must have a roll up your sleeves philosophy and be a role model for the McKesson culture and ILEAD and ICARE values and an inspirational leader.

Essential Responsibilities

• Ensure high quality employee attraction, engagement, and development at all levels.

• Build bench strength through modeling ICARE/ILEAD and development of a high-performing culture. Work with regional management on succession planning.

• Develop the vision for the 3PL distribution network, while tracking current processes and regularly assessing if best practices are in place as they relate to labor, operational activities, and connectivity to the broader McKesson enterprise.

• Participate in Sales proposals to perspective clients, communicating and responding to operation's capabilities while identifying opportunities for Enterprise wide solutions and facilitating the relationships with other McKesson businesses as appropriate.

• Provide data driven input for the 3PL operational budget.

• Develop tools to manage for operational teams within facilities to make data driven labor decisions for short, mid, and long-term planning.

• Strategize with leaders across the network to stay ahead of changing customer needs, industry advances, and labor planning concerns.

• Oversee compliance with federal, state, local, and company policies and safety regulations.

• Develop a best in class system and technology strategy needed to optimize the end to end operations with respect to labor and capacity optimization.

Typical Minimum Experience & Education

• 15+ years of distribution, supply chain, and/or logistics experience with at least 10+ years of direct leadership experience

• 4-year degree in a technical discipline; engineering or supply chain

• MBA or Graduate degree strongly desired

• SAP or related Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)

Critical Skills

• Advanced knowledge of Distribution Center operations (pick, pack, store, ship) including transportation, inventory management, facilities management, and capital planning

• Proven experience building best-in-class DC operations including processes, org structure, and labor optimization

• Servant leadership with track record of building and developing high-performing teams

• Client management experience - maintaining best-in-class service for client base

• Excellent communication (verbal/written) and presentation skills

• Advanced financial and business acumen to include knowledge of key financial statements drivers and levers

• Ability to develop, drive, implement and maintain innovation and promote continuous improvement around engineering processes, customer support, cost structure and quality initiatives

• Experience managing DEA regulation compliance

Additional Skills

• Strong PC skills and the ability to use McKesson's suite of PC-based applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft, Outlook, etc.)

• Six Sigma training or continuous improvement experience or certification

Working Conditions:

• May be located in Ohio, Kentucky, Illinois, or Indiana but must be able and willing to travel to DCs on a regular basis (estimated 30-50% travel)

• Multiple environments including office and warehouse. Must be willing and able to work various hours to manage across the 24-hour operation within the distribution center
