McKesson's Prescription Automation team has an opening for an Associate Product Manager. This position has a preferred location in our Longmont, Colorado office and requires up to 25% travel. Remote locations will be considered.
Uncover and understand customer needs and translate them into requirements.
Ability to work well with internal teams, including developers, engineers, architects, quality assurance, operations, manufacturing, engineering, account management and sales. Ensure requirements are fully understood and that implementation plans match expectations.
Understand, research, and follow technical trends in the industry and make recommendations on which new technologies to invest in or leverage.
Follow competitors and conduct capability analysis regularly with support from product management leadership team
Identification of new opportunities, service improvements, and cost reductions as well as assess and address technical risks.
Management of end of sale and end of life scenarios and projects within the product portfolio. Work includes evaluating replacement options, making a recommended go-forward path, aligning internal stakeholders on the end of life strategy, and partnering with customer-facing teams on the customer communication and rollout.
Provide internal and customer training on how to use the product(s) and serve as a product evangelist and subject matter expert to the technical, engineering and manufacturing community.
Answer incoming questions about the product and its capabilities from both external and internal customer
Coordinate beta or field tests as needed
Define success criteria for testing and product acceptance.
Facilitate the creation and maintenance of proper product documentation.
A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
2+ years of experience in Industrial Automation
2+ years of experience in Project or Product Management
Additional Knowledge & Skills (if applicable)
Basic Mechanical, Electrical, and Software Aptitude
Flexible and self-motivated
Strong communication and analytical skills
Ability to work in a fast paced working environment
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Sense of urgency, successful at meeting deadlines
Experience with Project management tools (SmartSheet, MS Project, etc.)
Effective technical documentation skills
Experience in Six Sigma & Continuous Improvement processes
