Our Abbott Manufacturing site located in Irving Texas is looking for aBusiness Intelligence Developerwith specialized knowledge in Microsoft Power BI, Flow and Azure Analysis Services. This developer will work within SLC procedures to gather requirements, design, develop, test, document and maintain business intelligence solutions for the manufacturing site. Clearly presenting information through reports and visualization along with good communication skills for training is a must. The new team member will work with multiple data sources (i.e. Oracle, SQL Server, Excel, CSV, and cloud technologies) and be required to have strong SQL/Extraction skills for data retrieval and strong ETL/data modeling skills.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Crafting and executing ad-hoc database queries and conduct analyses upon request for the business
Collaborate with teams to integrate systems
Actively engage in business stakeholder requirements gathering sessions to understand, interpret and translate requirements into an effective technical solution
Ensure the right information is identified at the right time and at the appropriate level for reporting purposes
Educate business stakeholders on intelligence reporting capabilities
Establishes the metrics required to measure business performance and recommends the go-forward strategy to address performance gaps.
Develop and update technical documentation
Complete full SLC process to Design, Develop, test and maintain Power BI visualizations and reports for requested projects
Accounts for the accuracy of the data presented to BI users through the execution of validation processes and testing procedures
Monitor the Power BI system for data quality, job errors, performance issues and resolve with Microsoft
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business, Mathematics or any other applied sciences.
5+ years of experience with data warehousing projects and knowledge of industry leading best practices.
5+ years of data warehouse architecture experience.
Experience documenting functional and technical requirements, technical design, test cases and training material.
4+ years as full stack MS Power BI modelling (M code), Dax, data storytelling, report publishing, security and knowledge of how people make decisions with data.
Background in Manufacturing data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modeling) and data mining
Advanced level SQL programming
Experienced in extracting business requirements and data from Oracle E-Business Suite
6 or more years background in data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modeling) and data mining
Excellent in analytical thinking for translating data into informative visuals and reports
Significant hands on experience in creating and deploying KPI, analytic, and dashboard solutions including design, development, deployment, data engineering, data warehousing, and data management projects and practices.
General project management/team leader skills.
Demonstrated technical leadership skills.
Advanced understanding of Microsoft Cloud offerings a Plus.
ERP or manufacturing systems experience a plus
Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred.
Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
Strong business and technical aptitude with an attitude to solve complex problems.
Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
