Responsible for supporting the development and implementation of enterprise-wide programs and processes to support product certification and compliance initiatives.
Support projects to address product design compliance to certifications and regulations including electrical safety,
explosive atmosphere, electromagnetic compatibility, and environmental compliance. Ensure products continue to comply to existing and new requirements throughout its lifecycle.
Responsible for the completion of product compliance deliverables including compliance and design review, creation of certification plans and test plans, publications, and test reports approval.
Serve as the primary liaison with third-party agencies such as UL, Intertek, ABS, DNV-GL, etc.
Lead cross-functional projects to manage changes to products and processes to ensure compliance integrity to new or changed product environmental regulations, audits, and safety certification requirements.
Analyze regulatory trends and share information with impacted business groups.
Work with Strategic Sourcing, suppliers, and partners to ensure that the supply chain is positioned and responsive to support compliance programs.
Support external customers by addressing requirements for product compliance information.
Implement, maintain, and improve PQS laboratory management system according to ISO 17025; identify deviations from the laboratory management system and report to laboratory management on the performance of the laboratory management system and any need for improvement. Initiate actions to prevent or minimize deviations and ensure effectiveness of laboratory activities.
Act independently to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments.
Lead and participate in project teams consisting of cross-functional personnel to address critical issue closure.
Provide supervision and training.
Responsible for influencing business groups to incorporate regulatory and certification requirements into product designs.
Build strong relationships and partnerships across the company to leverage ideas, capabilities, and processes, unifying internal constituents around a common vision and goals, and teaming with others for enhanced outcomes.
Communicate effectively through all levels in the organization. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
Responsible for planning and executing projects which are of significant and strategic importance to the corporation.
Monitor and understand complex regulatory and market drivers and their ability to affect product lines, working with business partners to assess risk and strategy for ensuring compliance of RA products.
Comprehend the needs and requirements of customers or business partners to bring strategic value to them.
Promote regulatory compliance and customer needs as the key drivers for business goals and initiatives.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
Minimum 8 years of experience in hardware design, incorporating electrical safety and electromagnetic compatibility considerations for electrical and electronics industrial automation products, including supervision of a team of Engineers.
Experience in regulatory or compliance certification will be an added advantage.
Technically proficient to review product design according to IEC 61010-1, IEC 61010-2-201, ANSI 12.12.01, IEC 60079-0 and IEC 60079-7.
Practical hands-on experience in electrical safety testing under UL DAP Program and electromagnetic compatibility testing.
Familiar and has experience implementing ISO/IEC 9001, ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO/IEC 80079-34 requirements.
Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
