Lead and manage the development and execution of marketing strategies and programs on behalf of VSP Global and the lines of business (LOBs) to ensure maximum growth and market exposure. Oversee marketing and communications efforts on behalf of LOBs as well as cross LOB programs/initiatives and future market strategies.
Lead marketing and communications team to perform strategic marketing and communications planning and execution for VSP Global, practice solutions, and VSP Optics
Set strategy, develop, market, and administer cross-LOB programs, such as the VSP Global Loyalty program; identify opportunities for cross-promotion and message integration, including at tradeshows, events, and online; work with cross-LOB marketing team to influence participation in program implementation and adoption
Participate in the development of campaigns and marketing programs utilizing innovative ways to communicate, including the use of digital and social media, online/email campaigns, and Web sites; create programs, marketing plans, and messaging across multiple audiences
Act as a steward of enterprise brand and how a brand gets communicated and presented by LOBs and market segments; lead the development of new corporate brands and roll-out strategies and plans
Lead the marketing and communications team on corporate projects and other new initiatives, including strategic planning and branding for new product launches and execution of related tactics
Develop marketing plans in support of organizational goals and ensure plans align with enterprise brand position and future market strategy; work with LOBs for effective connectivity and the development of a strong and collective market presence
Provide marketing shared services that meet business partner needs and balance the overall needs of the organization. Continue to refine and expand the suite of services as well as service level agreements, resources management, and mutual expectations regarding deliverables.
Work closely with segment teams, LOBs, and Creative Solutions to ensure topnotch brand representation and associated visuals, both online and in print, ensuring business strategy alignment and results
Establish and cultivate relationships across the organization to maximize collaboration, learning, and integration
Engage in staff development as well as actively participate on the Marketing Management team and cross-LOB strategy teams
Assist with the department budget and monitor expenses to ensure costs are within established levels; report regularly to the manager regarding project status, team activities, training opportunities, staffing issues, and progress toward achieving established metrics
Monitor performance of direct reports, provide prompt and objective coaching and counseling; conduct performance reviews and recommend salary increases
Participate in hiring and interviewing process for open positions within the unit to ensure the most qualified candidates are selected
Assure effective communications are maintained within the unit, division, and externally, where appropriate, inform employees as to plans and progress; conduct employee discussion sessions at regular intervals
Identify and assign resources to meet business objectives; identify staff training needs based upon the organization's needs and priorities
Typically has the following skills or abilities:
Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience
Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience in a business-related environment
Minimum of 2 years of functional experience
Advanced understanding of brand management concepts and building/execution techniques
Proven ability to develop and execute marketing strategies that cut across multiple businesses with many stakeholders
Eyecare industry or product branding experience
Initiative negotiating skills to manage through grey space and transition
Project management experience
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, including grammar, style, and usage
Experience in graphic design and publications production
Practical knowledge and experience in digital and social media and online marketing
Ability to work with individuals from all levels of the organization
Ability to regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of his/her job duties
Experience with the developer, business analyst, product owner, project manager, and Scrum master roles that support successful agile development teams.
A proven track record of leading project teams in an agile environment to succeed.
Direct knowledge of process improvement methodologies.
