What you’ll be doing...
Verizon New Business Incubation (NBI) is looking for a Sr. DevSecOps Engineer to help us develop and deliver cutting edge automation technologies to our customers via our industry leading 5G network. Reporting directly to the Chief Engineer of NBI, your focus will be automating all the things, from our infrastructure and deployment process, to the applications and tooling used to perform cutting edge research leveraging cloud native and edge technologies. In addition, this role will focus on implementing the latest security for our cloud, MEC, and edge environments. You’ll have the chance to work on a variety of projects featuring EdgeAI, stationary robots, autonomous mobile robots, drones, and more, and be on a team that is responsible for helping us drive automation, scale, and security across a rapidly growing suite of products.
Develop and support a robust, scalable, and operational cloud native infrastructure that enables 24x7 operations and maximal site reliability.
Lead and contribute to the architecture of a DevSecOps infrastructure that meets requirements for uptime, efficiency, and continuous software delivery.
With your team, implement and manage infrastructure utilizing configuration management tools like Ansible or Puppet to configure environments that implement complex operational and security requirements on cloud and edge.
Develop virtualization infrastructure leveraging Docker and Kubernetes to support complex development, service integration and orchestration requirements.
Help deploy monitoring, alerting, and logging tools for DevOps infrastructure.
Document and version control the IT infrastructure using Git and Confluence, tracking and reporting work status via JIRA tickets.
Consolidate and improve our CI/CD system to enable multiple teams to automate deployments to servers, clusters, and applications.
Implement tooling to help deploy, troubleshoot and maintain cluster environments.
Design, implement and manage build and release pipelines.
Work with our corporate CISO team to perform security checks and audits from time to time and ensure compliance with Verizon security standards while creating a bespoke NBI posture.
Work with the team to plan and mitigate risk for various scenarios, from breach to ransomware.
What we’re looking for...
You'll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Experience providing innovative approaches and applying new technologies to the ever-changing world of software development and cybersecurity.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems or related field with equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proven track record of providing innovative approaches and applying new technologies to the ever-changing world of software development and cybersecurity.
Comprehensive knowledge of and experience with distribution and enforcement of standard configurations for clusters leveraging configuration management tools.
Lead the interaction with the cybersecurity team to provide input to security posture, ensuring compliance, comprehensive monitoring for general health and incident management, ancillary event detection, and development of security configurations that meet CISO requirements.
Broad experience with software development using scripting languages like Python, Bash, Perl, Ruby, etc.
Significant experience with virtual environments via Vagrant, VMware, etc. and containerized environments like Docker, Kubernetes, etc.
Significant experience architecting, implementing, and managing build and release pipelines leveraging CI/CD systems, as well as deep experience implementing security solutions for AWS.
Experience designing and implementing release and workflow pipelines using CI/CD systems like Jenkins or Gitlab.
