What you will do
As a Senior Staff Test Engineer you will act as the testing representative and primary point of contact between the test lab and R&D for the project you are assigned and responsible to:
Innovate - Apply broad knowledge of engineering principles to design advanced test systems and methods supporting product development, including design of automated electromechanical systems.
Project Manage - Partner with product teams to develop and execute comprehensive test plans, including coordination of outsourced testing with 3rd party labs when necessary.
Research - Build testing capability by investigating and implementing advancements in statistical techniques, test methods, control systems, data acquisition, analytics, or testing automation.
Collaborate - Build and leverage relationships with Test Lab, R&D, Quality, and Regulatory teams through project activities to deliver results.
Expertise - Consult as a subject matter expert across the organization regarding electrical and software test methods, hardware/software lifecycles, industry standards, reliability tools, data acquisition, and other test technologies.
Execute - Plan, document and conduct testing. Integrate software and hardware of test fixtures and data acquisition. Designs test scripts and controls.
What you need
Bachelor's in Electrical, Computer or Software Engineering
6+ years experience in electrical, computer, software engineering, test or related
Experience with PLC design for input/output modules including but not limited to sensors, switches, meters, relays, valves and drives
Experience with programming languages. LabVIEW and/or Python
Understanding and use of dynamic analytical methods/tools for analyzing electrical and software platforms
Competent in the designing and building of complex code script for data acquisition and test control systems.
Advanced understanding of electrical components including common failure modes.
Ability to interpret, analyze, and test electrical designs.
Advanced knowledge and understanding of the electrical design process, circuit design, schematics, PCBAs.
Proficiency in the use of CAD and/or other circuit design and analysis tools
Ability to use of oscilloscopes, multimeters and other measurement and analysis tools.
Experience with qualification and validation activities
Product development and project management experience is preferred
Ability to lead and mentor others
Experience working in Medical Device Quality System or other regulated industry is preferred
Eagerness to assist internal and external customers, ability to work with minimal supervision
