This position is responsible for various kitchen duties including food and meal preparation and cleaning tasks as assigned at all assigned properties of CWUS.
Food Program Support
Provides food preparation duties as assigned by Winery Chef
Assists with delivery and/or pickup of food/event supplies as needed
Maintains recipes and menus to be served to hospitality guests and at events as assigned by Winery Chef
Regularly develops, tests, and implements new recipes to pair with CWUS wines.
Follows budgetary restrictions on all assignments
Provides dishwashing and kitchen cleaning duties as assigned by Winery Chef
Inventories kitchen supplies
Ensures kitchen is maintained at a safety and health standard consistent with the standard of CWUS
Assists with setting up and breaking down of meal service, tastings, and events as required
Assists with cleaning projects as assigned
Assists with program development as it relates to food and wine pairing and execution
On-Call Kitchen Help in the absence of the Winery Chef
1.Â Â Â Education/Experience:
Minimum 2 years experience in a professional kitchenÂ Â
Degree from an established Culinary Academy recommended
Certificate in kitchen safety and cross-contamination required
2.Â Â Skills:
Must have culinary skills
Must know and understand meal preparation with regard to timing and logistics
Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
Solid organizational and time management skills
Must be capable of making decisions that will show good judgment and maturity
Effective written and verbal English skills
3.Â Â Knowledge:
Must have knowledge of state and federal laws concerning safety, sanitation, and cross-contamination and must abide by these laws
Must be creative and motivated about food and wine pairings
Must have a valid California Drivers License with clean driving record
Must be 21 years of age
Ability and desire to work extended hours of operation
Must be willing to work evenings, weekends, holidays
Able to lift 45lbs
