What you’ll be doing...
The Verizon Corporate Information Security (CIS) organization securely enables the business by protecting assets and information across Verizon networks, infrastructure and applications. CIS integrates cybersecurity governance, policies, technologies and operations across Verizon, and works to incorporate security into the design of technology systems and services.
The Cyber Resilience Architect is part of the Verizon Continuous Validation Engineering team protecting Verizon against cyber threats. This will serve as an engineering resource responsible for the implementation of automated continuous validation instrumentation to improve cyber resiliency, prioritize remediation and to enhance training and awareness. The Security Architect will work closely with the various internal teams as well as cross-organizational teams on design, content, and facilitating the use of the system. You will have helped define, build and maintain a continuous monitoring and validation program. You will be able to understand and solve business problems while managing associated risks and compliance requirements. The Cyber Resilience Architect will also be comfortable working without direction and have excellent communication skills.
This capability / function is critical for maintaining cyber defense posture, operational excellence and quality assurance.
Executing of the vision and development and ongoing running of this new program within Verizon.
Performing validation testing against the Verizon network and assets.
Creating signatures, playbooks, and executing simulated attacks through a more active, realistic testing methodology.
Procuring reports to demonstrate current security posture of Verizon’s network and assets.
Maintaining direct and regular interaction with the Threat Management Center and organizational stakeholders to prioritize remediation, and mature the security program, based on risk posture, threat landscape, and changing business requirements.
Working with cross-organization teams to evaluate the quality of provided data sources and recommending improvements to the sensing capabilities and coverage.
Supporting the technical security and engineering design review for proposed IT infrastructure changes, and understanding how these changes drive adjustments across the content process.
Identifying manual work drivers, and make recommendations / solutions on how to automate those tasks.

What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Three or more years of strong experience with SIEM platforms, including the ability to understand and analyze logs and build detection content.
Three or more years of experience with Scripting / programming languages (Python, Perl, Shell, etc.)
Even better if you have:
Bachelor’s degree required, Masters preferred.
Ten or more years of work experience in the field of Security.
Experience in large scale enterprise environments.
Experience building complex technical programs from scratch.
A clear understanding and experience in Security Operations.
Experience integrating SIEM with other security platforms / ticket systems.
Ability to convey a strong presence, professional image, and deal confidently with complex technical problems.
Ability to drive process improvements and identify gaps.
Proactive in engaging with other Verizon teams.
Ability to excel in a team, as an individual, in a fast-paced deadline driven organization.
Knowledge of the cyber threat landscape, including types of adversaries, campaigns, and the motivations that drive them.
Comfortable working with remote teams using virtual collaboration tools.
