What you’ll be doing...
The Naming and Identity Brand Manager is responsible for the successful development and deployment of brand identity and strategic naming applications across the whole Verizon portfolio. This includes seeing the process from development to execution. You will report to the Director of Brand Identity Design and Naming.
Work across a matrix organization with Verizon Business Unit stakeholders (SMB, Enterprise, Public-sector, Wholesale and CTO org) to intake briefs, digest information, and ask strategic questions.
Understand how Brand architecture and Brand naming projects fit into Verizon’s strategic goals.
Lead agency partners to push the thinking and ensure verbal and visual identity guidelines are followed.
Bring a sharp, creative, and tasteful eye to naming and visual design - ensuring creative fits in the portfolio, creates a through line across the organization and is future-proofed.
Coordinate brief walkthroughs with agency partners/product managers and strategic alignments/naming presentations with leadership.
Assist in new business process—expand projects from existing internal clients and work on new project proposals to drive brand growth and consistency.
Protect the Verizon brand from being improperly used - work with other Brand Development teams to review creative, packaging, hardware and other branded touchpoints.
Work with SEO Search and IP Legal team to approve Verizon URLs.
What we’re looking for...
You'll need to have:
Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications, or business MBA.
Ten or more years in role as account executive/lead at identity, naming/strategy agency and/or comparable client-side corporate identity/communications role.
Leadership/management experience of complex brand identity programs and projects for leading premium product or service brands- technology.
Strong writing and/or copywriting skills in a variety of “creative voices”.
Performed strategic consultation in the value of naming and identity in the business and marketing mix.
Knowledge of research and insight practices and their role in identity/naming process.
Strong client/stakeholder engagement orientation with prerequisite business acumen and interpersonal communication skills.
Written communication skills; creative briefing in particular Operational discipline.
Ability to be a conceptual thinker; strategically applying idea, names and messaging across all customer channels
