Software Development Engineering - Sr Professional I
Under general supervision, follows standards and previous work examples but uses creativity, analytical and debugging skills to support and improve delivered technical solutions. Exercises judgement within defined standard practice and procedures to analyze, design, program, debug, modify and implement technical solutions for our clients. Competent to work at a high technical level of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities.
Essential job responsibilities: * Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate/relate to all levels of an organization internally and externally. * Strong analytical skills demonstrated through effective troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues. * Ability to facilitate collective team of business and technical personnel through event planning, event management and final resolution. * Ability to plan and prepare moderately complex technical solutions in support of migrations, product upgrades and related customer activity. * Ability to evaluate customer requirements and desired end state to recommend technical solution with an understanding of key business drivers for the technical request. * Ability to support and create detailed work plans for multiple concurrent projects. * Assist in training and mentoring of new associates.
Required qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Science or 8 - 10 years related practical experience. * 3 - 5 years of experience in a technical environment, specific consideration to e-commerce or banking industry.
Additional skills/knowledge: * Thorough understanding and application of MVS Cobol and JCL mainframe computer languages. * Working knowledge of CA7 or equivalent job scheduling application. * Experience with NDM and SFTP transmission protocols and the ability to actively troubleshoot issues. * Understanding of mainframe and distributed systems architecture. * Collaborate on key improvement opportunities to use for future state solution design. * Support and maintain communication of project status with product managers, Professional Services leadership and/or other key business and technology partners. * Knowledge of Fiserv Banking and Billpay migration processes and systems. * Ability to think strategically and deliver the right level of detail appropriate to the audience. * Clear and effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills.
