Defining overall taxonomy, ontology, and classification strategy for operational teams.
Crafting a content classification system for business systems, processes, knowledge portals and web-based applications.
Managing all metadata associated with knowledge management and business processes.
Training team members in tagging and metadata implementation and use and governing their practices.
Crafting and leading governance process for taxonomy and metadata store.
Researching, selecting, and implementing appropriate technologies to support taxonomy, ontology, and knowledge graph efforts.
Analyzing web site metrics and user behavior data to thoughtfully optimize taxonomies.
Staying ahead of industry trends and standards including knowledge graph and semantic technology.
Understanding of search optimization using enterprise search tools and SharePoint.
Collaborating with content strategists and multi-functional business partners and IT teams to build and maintain classification systems and taxonomies.
Leading taxonomy design sessions through user interviews, card sorting activities, corpus analysis, tree testing, and job shadowing.
Collecting voice of the customer feedback to continuously refine metadata and taxonomies.
Master's degree in Library Information Sciences or Information Architecture or equivalent professional experience.
A minimum of 2 years business experience crafting, developing, implementing, and governing taxonomies.
Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
Effective interpersonal skills and ability to adapt to and navigate through interpersonal networks. Ability to influence and mentor business leaders on taxonomy value and design.
Proven project management skills, with the ability to run multiple projects simultaneously, and deliver within scope, on time and within budget
Demonstrated ability to anticipate, identify and plan for obstacles or barriers to agreement across lines of business in the creation of a shared controlled vocabulary.
2 years experience working with a knowledge management portal
Knowledge of taxonomy tools such as Tree Jack and Pool Party
This job is not covered by the existing Collective Bargaining Agreement.
