A focus on investigating Organized Retail Crime and other organized frauds that are targeting our US brands, the Manager Investigations and Asset Protection Analytics directs and conducts complex investigations complex through establishing solid partnerships with brand Asset Protection teams as well as local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies with the goal of detecting, disrupting, dismantling, and prosecuting these organizations. Responsible for directing the activities of the RBS Asset Protection Analysts in efforts to detect activities involving fraud or other loss inducing activities. Maintains case management, POS EBR, and other fraud detection software programs. Conducts high level statistical analysis for RBS, Brand Asset Protection, and leadership, producing reporting and analytics for use in all brands.
Develops the strategy and vision of the investigative program to ensure that all cases are fully and thoroughly investigated in-house, while also persuading law enforcement agencies and prosecutorial agencies to aggressively pursue all cases referred to them.
Provides direction on case development from inception to closure and coaches team members on all investigative components and techniques.
Directs the investigative protocol ensuring case productivity and quality, sets corporate investigative standards and practices, and develops shortage reduction and theft detection strategies for the teams to implement ensuring protocols are consistent with industry best practice and compliant with all laws and applicable statutes.
Assesses and evaluates new investigative technology to be used by the investigations team.
Directs the strategy for the use of analytics to proactively identify internal and external theft trends and exposures and uses statistics and analysis of prior incidents to influence the strategy of other business partners to include Information Security, Finance, Risk and Controls, Pharmacy, Front End Operations and IT to mitigate exposure to theft and fraud.
Works closely with the brand Asset Protection teams to identify and implement investigative strategies to minimize exposure to shortage.
Trains RBS and brand Asset Protection teams in fraud trends, systems and investigative procedures,
Develops and maintains strong relationships within the law enforcement community to support our efforts
Acts as a subject matter expert and resource for company investigative activities.
Provides support, leadership and guidance to the RBS AP Analysts and field Investigations Specialists Consults with the brands on brand level investigations requiring additional support.
As requested, conduct/coordinate sensitive investigations on behalf of the brand
Responsible for Capital and Expense budget adherence.
Maintains, improves, and handles contracts for Asset Protection case reporting software and for Asset Protection exception reporting software. Maintains relationships with the vendors and IT to coordinate implementation, upgrades, troubleshooting, etc.
Responsible for supervising those conducting day to day operational investigations, notifications of leads to retail Asset Protection Managers, handling all reporting of these activities to all Brands
Handles Cap Index data, creates and maintains risk reporting relating to this data
Responsible for keeping up with industry trends relating to analytics, theft detection, case reporting, etc.
Directs team in efforts to analyze data and trends that may individuate potential fraudulent activity of all types to include information systems and eCommerce.
Maintains knowledge of industry trends and new products that may assist in product protection and fraud prevention/detection.
Participate in industry groups/committees to exchange best practices and conduct research into the effectiveness of various Asset Protection solutions.
2-4 Years of retail supermarket and/or distribution experience
CFI/LPC certifications preferred
