The Lead IT Architect is responsible for the overall architecture, design, and development of ERP systems (SAP, Sage/High Jump) for RxC 3PL from business requirements to design, code development, testing and analytics/reporting framework and solutions. Must be able to collaborate with varying levels of technical understanding and be a thought leader and change agent who is able to adapt in a very fast paced, ever-changing environment. The incumbent will join our talented team of RxC 3PL technology team in helping to drive software innovation and improve customer's satisfaction. This dynamic role will allow the individual to tap into their technical architecture, analytical and leadership skills, interact with both internal and external stakeholders and to think outside the box in developing creative solutions.
Responsible for the overall technical architecture, design, code development, testing on backend ERP platforms (SAP, Sage/HJ) supporting RxC 3PL business processes
Responsible for providing oversight, developing roadmaps, design standards, code reviews and mentoring of technical teams supporting RxC 3PL IT platforms
Applies advanced principles, theories, and concepts in the solution architecture field
Evaluate business requirements and provide solutions, products, or services
Conducts a system architecture evaluation and collaborates with portfolio management and IT development teams to improve the architecture
Writes software code to develop, unit test, debug, optimize and implement RxC backend ERP software SAP and Sage 100 solutions according to the roadmap.
Evaluates project constraints to find alternatives, alleviate risks, and perform process re-engineering if required
Accountable for software delivery including continuous improvement, practices, and principles
Work with application functional architects to understand functional and non-functional (technical) requirements and translate into code design
Ability to establish operational guidelines, design architectural frameworks, and develop implementation strategies agnostic of technical platform
Maintain quality coding practices and standards via peer design and code reviews
Implement software enhancements for existing and new RxC 3PL business requirements and manufacturer client requirements
Support new software releases and features enhancements during the product lifecycle.
Document major processes and development milestones, both inside and outside of the code.
Troubleshoot and resolve imminent software deficiencies.
Stay up to date with technology trends and industry best practices.
Research and evaluate new software technologies to benefit RxC 3PL needs
Build collaborative relationships with the McKesson Technology teams, RxC 3PL Business stakeholders and other peers.
Interact directly with external manufacturer customers during beta testing and troubleshooting.
Develop & support enterprise architecture strategies for ERP, guiding principles, processes, policies, and standards
Typically requires 10+ years of relevant experience
Hands on experience with SAP ABAP and technical development tools
Development experience with SAP MM/WM; SD; FI; and BW modules
Experience 10+ years in software development/architecture
Experience in enterprise application and information architecture methodologies and design
Advanced understanding and experience working with various development tools, design standards, best practices, and architecture frameworks
Knowledge of Agile methodology
Experience in all phases of software development including design, coding, testing, debugging, implementation, and source management
Excellent external communication and leadership skills are required in dealing with customers and partners.
Excellent critical thinking and diagnostic aptitude
Strong leadership skills that inspire team confidence and respect while motivating team members in a creative and effective manner
Organizational and time-management skills are necessary.
Ability to use soft skills techniques to collaborate in a dynamic and challenging work environment.
Must demonstrate good oral, written and presentation communication skills.
Passionate orientation and attention to customer satisfaction.
Experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare industry is a plus.
Experience with architectural abstractions and design patterns
4-year degree in computer science, engineering, or another STEM field or equivalent experience
