What You'll Do
The Senior Strategic Medicaid Account Manager is responsible for assessing U.S. State Medicaid glucose management coverage policies and developing/executing strategies, in accordance with clinical evidence and patient needs, that result in policy makers updating policies to improve the lives of people living with diabetes. This role provides support to the U.S. commercial organization and managed care sales teams by providing assistance in reviewing coverage policies, processes for updating them, and identifying key stakeholders. He/she facilitates coordination of stakeholders including Abbott Government Affairs, marketing, legal, key opinion leaders, and patient/physician organizations. He/she fosters key partnerships with Sales Management, Marketing, Pricing and Contracting, Commercial Operations, Abbott Government Affairs, and external stakeholders..
Develop/Implement strategies and track progress
Coordinate with all stakeholders including Abbott State Government Affairs
Coordination with, and managing consultants as necessary
Understand politics/finances/legal associated with policy changes
Respond to coverage questions raised by ADC sales teams, and ADC Marketing
All other responsibilities as assigned
Bachelor's degree required, MBA preferred Subject to relevant work experience
Minimum 7 years of experience in Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Order Management, Logistics, Contracts and Pricing or related field.
Ability to demonstrate knowledge and competencies in the following areas; Order processing and fulfillment Financial analysis and budget management
Presentation of analytical information informally and formally to all levels of management Contract/vendor management Teamwork and communication skills in a multicultural and multidivisional environment
8-10 years of relevant experience, Marketing or Business Equivalent, or Health Policy, or Finance, Masters in Health Policy or health related fields, or MBA (± 5 years)
Advocacy experience, Government Affairs experience
Public Affairs and communication experience
Regulatory reimbursement experience, Medical device reimbursement experience
Managed Care Marketing and/or Managed Care Sales Experience
Medical device or pharma product marketing experience
Project Management experience
Demonstrated leadership experience; has proven track record in leading and guiding non-direct reports and other stakeholders
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; has demonstrated ability to build, organize and lead cross functional teams; strong communication skills and executive presence
Servant leader: capable of working with and influencing cross-functional disciplines as well as focus markets and regions outside this position's span of formal authority
Able to leverage diversity to drive success
