There is an excellent opportunity for a full-time Optometrist to work four days a week at Lakeside Vision, located in Hawley, Pennsylvania.

Founded in 2002 by Dr. Amy Neal and Dr. Mike Neal in 2008, Lakeside Vision is an award-winning practice serving the Hawley communities and Wayne County. Patients can expect a total eye care experience and a lifetime of clear vision through thorough care, advanced technology, and compassionate professionals. As a well-respected business in the community, this practice focuses on medical eye care and ocular disease and treatment, ensuring patients receive the most comprehensive exam possible. The professionals also have a strong focus on pediatric and child eye care to help prevent vision and reading challenges in the future. To support future practice growth and maintain the red-carpet treatment patients know and expect, the practice is looking to add a provider to the highly-trained staff of ten employees.
Lakeside Vision uses state-of-the-art diagnostic technology and vision correction products to diagnose and treat a wide array of ocular conditions. Fully suited with top-of-the-line optical equipment, the practice utilizes Zeiss Perimetry, Canon fundus photography, Optos Daytona, Heidelberg OCT, A&B scan ultrasonography, and NOVA electrophysiology. The practice flow is efficient, and a team of Optometric Technicians performs pretesting, enabling the doctors to care for an average of 30 patients daily, plus same-day appointments and after-hours emergencies when needed. About the Optometrist Opening
Lakeside Vision is seeking a seasoned Optometrist dedicated to providing the highest quality of patient care and has top-notch communication, multitasking, and advanced time management skills. As an essential pillar of the practice, you'll perform comprehensive vision exams and prescribe corrective lenses (eyeglasses and standard and specialty contact lenses); diagnose, manage and treat vision and medical disorders of the eye; perform surgical procedures, such as epilation, foreign body removal, punctal occlusion, corneal epithelial debride
ment, and amniotic membranes; promote healthy vision by counseling and educating patients on preventative eye care; provide personalized temporary and permanent solutions to sight issues based on each patient's specific case and medical history, and maintain accurate electronic medical records.
Maintaining communication and correspondence with a multitude of groups is critical in this role. For example, you'll co-manage with Ophthalmologists for patients undergoing cataract or retinal surgery, as well as provide surgical co-management. In addition, you'll refer patients to other medical providers when needed, managing timely correspondence with endocrinology, rheumatology, neurology, neuro-ophthalmology, and cardiology. You'll also work directly with technicians and scribes for direct patient care encounters and maintain communications with optical and support staff in order to optimize quality clinical care and service.
To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate leadership, communication, interpersonal skills, and compassion for patient health and safety. The ideal candidate is customer service-oriented with excellent analytical skills and is interested in enhancing skills through mentorship with experienced doctors and integrating new techniques and innovations that improve patient care and services.
Minimum qualifications include:
Optometry license in the state of Pennsylvania
Maintain state licensing requirements, including continuing education
In-depth knowledge of eye-related disorders and conditions
Experience with Electronic Health Records
Provide emergency eye care during business hours and rotate after hours with other Optometrists
Preferred qualifications include:
Specialty contact lenses
Advanced dry eye treatment
