What you’ll be doing...
Our Operations team is responsible for everything from hardware to operating system to automation to network traffic engineering. There are no limits or barriers. Everyone pitches in to run world-class infrastructure that delivers the BlueJeans video communications platform globally. This role is responsible for systems architecture, support and security, along with deploying systems and supporting peer developers.
Participate in On-call rotation.
Work closely with the dev team and product management.
Juggle long-term projects with real-time monitoring and triage.
Work on all DevOps functions (deployment, provisioning, maintenance, monitoring etc.)
What we’re looking for...
You enjoy identifying and solving problems, communicate well, and are passionate about cloud services, technology and the web. You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Experience with Linux administration including scripting.
Experience working in a Cloud environment.
Even better if you have:
Bachelors in Computer Science and Engineering.
Experience using Amazon EC2 and virtualization with Vmware or Docker containers.
Experience with cloud based architecture building blocks such as message queuing, in memory caches, nginx etc.
Automation & Orchestration experience using Consul, Terraform, Chef, NewRelic, Sumo etc.
MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra or other database experience.
Experience deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters.
Solid communication skills to promote technical solutions with peers and development teams to get feedback and come to consensus.
Experience with functional or imperative programming languages -- e.g., Python, Ruby, Go, C, or Java.
Knowledge of H.323, SIP and any other buzzworthy technology in video / voice conferencing.
A strong dedication to code quality, automation and operational excellence.
Experience working in an Agile software delivery environment.
