WHAT YOU'LL DO
We are looking for a high performing and high potential Financial Analyst to be based at our Division HQ in Alameda, CA. This high visibility, high impact role will assist in creating and completing key financial reports for the Diabetes Care division that are reviewed by executive management, working with finance leaders across the division to provide meaningful insight into business drivers vs. key benchmarks, and preparing senior leaders for reviews with MDD and Corporate. This is a tremendous opportunity to develop your skills and gain exposure from the Assistant Controller and Division Controller, and you will also have visibility to key financial and non-financial information from all divisional teams (incl. Commercial, Manufacturing, R&D, etc).
Supports Finance Management on key projects and analysis
Will be integral player in development of LBE (forecast) templates utilized by the entire global finance departments and be expected to assist in providing guidance to senior finance personnel
Will assist in Key Consolidation of Divisional LBE's for all key P&L accounts (including sales, operational variances, standard costs, transfer prices, R&D, SG&A, etc.)
Will be expected to create slides summarizing key business activities that support the financial submissions from the finance teams. Slides will be reviewed by senior leadership (including Divisional Controller and SVP)
Responsible for consolidating key LBE reports such as LBE sales by geographies, managerial handpostings and non-operating income/loss
Will have the opportunity to see entire P&L each LBE cycle, learning key business drivers from each department
Interfaces with Senior Management and Department Managers and key stakeholders to gain understanding of key revenue and cost drivers
Working with other finance teams, assist in preparing monthly management reporting packages that include analysis and key business changes that impact the division, including sales and patient data, manufacturing data and status of key product launches
Will have opportunity to identify and enhance key analytics of the Division P&L and be expected to present to DHQ Management and/or Division Controller these analytics
Should be willing to utilize tools (e.g. Excel, Power BI, etc) to help complete tasks in a more meaningful, streamlined manner
Completes ad hoc financial requests as needed
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING
Bachelors Degree (preferably in finance, accounting or economics)
2-5 years financial analysis experience.
Ability to plan, implement, and administer financial information and control systems.
Knowledge of the principles, processes and standards for integrated financial analysis and reporting.
Highly proficient in Excel.
Masters Degree / MBA preferred
Experience with EssBase, Dodeca, SAP and Hyperion budgeting software a plus
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization
