The Vice President of Financial Services (VP), reporting directly to the Executive Vice President, Chief Financial and Administrative Officer and working closely with senior leadership across the foundation, is a key leader at the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and serves as a thought and business partner/financial strategist to the CFAO, and other executive leadership.
The VP holds overall operational responsibility for managing the Institution’s Finance function helping to ensure that the organization makes sound decisions on the application of its financial resources. This individual will lead development and execution of operating budget of $400 million, and a finance operation that includes approximately 25 people. The VP will oversee all aspects of finance function in addition to being responsible for setting and enforcing all financial policies, procedures, and controls.
The successful candidate will have outstanding interpersonal skills and be a skilled collaborator, and communicator with both internal and external constituents. S/he will have substantial relevant experience and knowledge working with all aspects of financial operations including direct oversight of financial planning and accounting operations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee the full range of financial functions including financial planning, reporting, and analysis; accounting; treasury management; tax and compliance; and external audit.
Establish and lead a high performing, best in class FP&A function, including talent recruitment and management, development of financial performance process, development and facilitation of key performance indicators/metrics and organization-wide financial analysis to inform decision-making by leadership.
Plan, execute and report financial activities, including annual budgets, long-range financial planning with financial controls, procedures, accuracy, and reliability.
Partner with functional and departmental leaders on team financials, cash analysis, and program level reporting.
Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and provide departmental leaders with advice on the financial implications of research and business activities and initiatives.
Develop standard and ad-hoc financial models and analysis for new business needs, scenario analysis etc.
Develop presentations and communicate financial information effectively to executive leadership, across the organization, and to the Board of Directors as needed.
Maintain and strengthen the cashflow projection process and reporting mechanism that includes minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs.
Develop and implement procedures, processes, and disciplines fundamental to maintaining a solid and reliable control environment; ensure the organization maintains high ratings from charity and credit bureaus.
Responsible for the quality, accuracy, and timeliness of financial information provided to internal and external parties including with the Institution's banks and external auditor. Ensure compliance with laws and regulations of various regulatory bodies.
Provide the professional leadership necessary to continue to build and maintain a best-in-class finance department and develop a strong team.
Cultivate strong relationships at all levels.
Mentor and develop employees, including performance management and coaching.
Oversee all financial systems; Manage business requirements development and support the configuration, integration, and implementation of systems necessary to fully support the financial and operational requirements of the overall enterprise.
Together with teams in finance, human resources, and technology, lead the multi-year process of implementing Workday as the new enterprise resource planning system (ERP) for finance and human resources.
Beyond the ERP, focus on modernizing processes and policies to simplify workflows and internal controls with the goal of making the organization more efficient and streamlined.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Strong financial and operational experience having worked in a senior financial management role for a minimum of 12 years.
5+ years’ experience in leading FP&A operations and strategy.
Experience working in non-profit financial management is preferred.
Bachelor’s degree required; an MBA is preferred; a CPA is a plus.
Experience leading the short-term and long-term financial planning process.
Superior strategic thinking skills and a solid background in financial analysis, modeling, accounting, budgeting, auditing, risk assessment and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles is required.
Proactive problem-solver with creative operational instincts and a long-term perspective about the organization, who seeks innovative approaches to further the foundation’s strategic goals.
Experience leading and managing a team of senior financial professionals and their staff including hiring, performance management, training, and professional development.
Strong commitment to staff engagement, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Experience with implementing and administering financial planning software and ERP systems is preferred.
Effective communicator of financial information to ensure high-level, strategic decision-making.

Manages a team of about 25 finance professionals with four direct reports: Controller, Head of Financial Planning and Management, Tax & Compliance Director, and a Systems Analyst.
Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, and temperature.
Travel to off-site training and conferences, including automobile and air travel, and overnight stays, as necessary.
